 Beijing
« Thread Started on Jun 2, 2012, 11:27pm »

I'm traveling to Beijing today for a summer research program! The flights have a total duration of 19 hours, so I might get some decent PQing done . . or at least watch lots of Looney Tunes. I'll still be on here during my six weeks away; could be more frequently or not as much.

When you're there, make time to sit back and take a deep breath of that fresh Beijing air.

The buisness is great I hear!

And I was JUST about to say that! Have a nice time in Beijing! And be sure to enjoy the nice food they have there, even though the last time i had Chinese the guy said, "We don't even eat this food back in China!" but be sure to tell us all about it during your trip!

We have no doubts you'll still be around on the forums during your trip .. So long as the Chinese government allows you to access MarbleBlast.com ;)

And I have to ask.. is the 19 hour flight with or without timezone changes..because really aren't you flying into the future? I'm confused. Air travel across multiple timezones is odd.

It's without. China is 12 hours ahead of EDT, so I lose that half a day, but will gain it when I come back.

I wasn't there long enough to buy cheese, and I ate all the chocolate they gave us on the plane. None for you!

Riblet, I'll be researching deep-space trajectories. More on that when I get my specific project.
