Hey guys, StewMan46 here, since 2014 is nearly over and we welcome 2015, I would like to share our finest moments of 2014 in the Marble Blast world. To do this, I've set up this thread to share these moments which were the best in many ways - To start off, my best moment was my video "A few Marble Blast Levels 2" getting over 500 views.

My best moments were getting 1.482 tornado bowl, 2:28.736 on Invasion, and getting 1.836 on Downhill Racing. And the best moment of all was joining the community!

I played marble blast

I'd have to say my best moment this 2014 year was when I beat Battlecube Finale for the first time, not only under par, but under platinum, with a smooth time of 11:30.097. This was in quick succession of my 18:20-ish Battlecube Finale time which was the least finest moment of 2014 in the world of Marble Blast, as I had completed the level, only to have it crash almost immediately, before the End Game dialog appeared, so the score was lost. :C

I think the staff and I can all agree that our best moment happened a few times:
  • MBP 1.50 finally releasing
  • Actually having our own website now
  • Not killing each other yet from arguments and me being a pleb :P

I am a programmer. Most here know me for being one of the major contributors to Marble Blast Platinum and PlatinumQuest.

My favorite moments from 2014 on the MBP Scene:
  • Seeing this right before we had to finish and launch the new site:

[1/1/14, 2:39:37 AM] Geoff: dont ask me 2 do anymore plz, i wanna b done

  • The original site launch in January when the massive influx of old people (who all left shortly after) completely flattened the site.
  • When MBP 1.50 Beta 1 didn't actually let anyone play MultiPlayer and we got a whole load of angry people.
  • Trying to update the site to Apache 2.4 right before going on a week-long vacation, exploding everything. I had to fix the site over SSH on my phone in a car. It was bad.
  • Tried to update the site on another occasion before a vacation, also went disaster-tastrophe.
  • When Matan + I switched the SVN from platinumbeta to platinum; everything exploded and destroyed my wc twice.
  • When Matan/Aayrl/I managed to grind the entire winter update out in a weekend. I've only now recovered from the number that did on my sleep cycle.
Apart from all the disasters, there were some good moments that we had:
  • Managing to export (almost) all the posts before the old proboards switched to v5. It changed practically on the day of our launch.
  • The laugh of pure joy that Matan made when he first tried 8-player MBP MultiPlayer for the first time after release. So laggy, so good.
  • Getting a new site in March that didn't collapse.
  • Discovering that the engine can be "extended" via code injection.
  • Laughing my ass off while fixing all the various horrifying bugs in the various MBP Betas
  • Setting up a dedicated server and actually managing to keep it afloat.

Overall, it's been a great year here on this site. I'd say we made out pretty well considering how disastrous other games' launches were this year.

EDIT: Bonus funny quote section

[strike]MBG WRR#4 was released[/strike]

<.< >.>
that's my fault, partly...

Even though i already have reached 2015 I might as well share mine.
Most are pretty much blender related which I did most during whole year, even now it's hard to do any Constructing because of using blender too much. :P

Here we go:
-Release of my full scenery pack for forums winter update to 2015. Man I spent about 3 whole days working on this having hardly any sleep but the result was well worth the hassle and winter update turned out to be something great for everyone to enjoy. :)
-Generally whole blendering scene during 2014, I learned quite a lot during this short year which was quite satisfying when I could fix some old models that I couldn't release because of some errors. I also managed to do armature animations for MB which now opens many new possibilities and my skills in GIMP improved a lot too.
-Release of MB 1.50, while I didn't had much fun with multiplayer generally 1.50 was a new breath of air due to community reviving, seeing at least 6 people every day on LB's was pretty surprising.
-Speedruinning of level groups. I started this a month ago and it turned into fun thing to do because of new pathways I found myself and constantly improving my skills. I guess this is new thing I'm doing this year. :P

Last year was a blast, lot of things changed IRL and blender 3D scene. Generally it was a good year. 8/10 would do again.

Some guy that does DTS shapes and levels.

AWESOME time HINT : When making PQ level place your custom interiors and textures in platinum/data/interiors_pq/custom
makes life easier for you and everyone else :)

My finest moment of 2014 is the exact moment when I hit 80 subscibers on my YouTube channel!

You forget a thousand things everyday. Make sure Marble Blast isn't one of 'em.

#1 is joining the community of course!

Also...

RC1 got released, whoo...
RC2 got released, double whoo...
I got 19.00 on Triple Decker, which still stands 6 months later as my only MBG/MBP/MBA/MBE (full mod) World Record.
I beat Pascal in MP ... that was fun.
I also beat Matan in MP ... that was very fun.
As well as lots of laughs with friends and some fun speedrunning times and multiplayer matches.
Not really a moment but thanks to Regi and Imp for putting up with me being annoying for loads of moments :)

It's great to be a part of this community.

Here are my best moments in 2014, not really in any particular order.
I join the community in May. I had been playing MB for quite a while prior to that, and it was wonderful to meet others who i had admired for quite a while, like Andrew, HiGuy, Buzzmusic, etc.
I discovered the wonders of multiplayer, playing it all the time and watching mp videos, some of them with me in it :) . After several months of enjoying hanging out with everyone in the community, RC1 is released, and i discover the awesomeness of playing with people like frostfire, regislian, dushine, etc.
MBK's marble blast multiplayer movie is released.
RC2 comes then the final release comes. I have a wonderful time playing in the marble blast multiplayer tournament, even though i fall by the hands of promo :P. (DUSH v IMP FINALS WHERe)
Then, the BWRR comes to life and i get two records, cycle and orange forest :)
I get the rare and fun opportunity to 1v1 matan at least once.
I have enjoyed so much being part of the community so far, and i hope for more fun years to come. :D
