Soviet Prophecy:


It's finally here! After 13 1/2 long hours and 4 intense months of work, Soviet Prophecy has arrived! It started as a mix between techno and rock, but grew into quite a number of different moods! It's actually quite different than all my other songs... Enjoy this 8-minute treat!

First what version of FRAPS do you have?

There will usually be a tab that says Movies and it'll say Video Capture Hotkey. You press that button to start recording (in game only) and sometimes it'll count your framerate (dependent on your options you put in). When your not recording it'll be yellow but when you record it'll be red. (v. 3.4.5)

For me it gives me extreme lag when I'm using OpenGL (-30 fps)
With Direct3D I see no lag at all (+40 fps)

Lower your screen resolution if you want, windowed mode might help.

Fraps Test



Okay, I'm testing out Fraps with Marble Blast. There is a small lag, making gameplay harder when recording... So don't expect me to do some extreme runs until I'm able to de-lag things completely. I've recorded a level from Marble Blast Future.

We usually recommend people who get such lag during realtime gameplay to actually use the .rec system to record their replays, and then use FRAPS to record the .rec, this way you don't have harder gameplay.

Divergence - No Jumping: 14.54

Not the best run ever, but I found a decent path on Divergence without jumping. This is my first official MB vid, and the lag you see now, unfortunately will be in the rest of my MB vids.

Hurray for MB Vids! Only downside is the lag.

Nice path but iMac had a better path for PT (sub-7). I even beat this level without that SJ and no jumping.

About the lag, you could alter the in game settings to reduce lag.
Can you tell me what settings you have in game?

Hmm when I used those settings it gives me no lag at all.

Another way to remove lag (from video, not in game) is to use so sort of video exporter (Windows Movie Maker, Sony Vegas, etc.) and adjust the settings to remove lag from video.
