The Steam guidelines prohibit the distribution of the game:

What you shouldn’t publish on Steam:

  1. Content you don’t own or have adequate rights to
  2. Content that violates the laws of any jurisdiction in which it will be available

Not to mention, there's considerable amount of paperwork and additional things involved in getting it published. And I'm not sure if they would even greenlight it.

  • Sign the digital paperwork. You’ll need the information as detailed below.
  • Pay the app deposit fee with any supported Steam payment method as detailed below.
  • Complete the paperwork with your bank and tax information as well as identity verification so that we know who we’ll be doing business with.
  • Now you have access to Steamworks and can begin preparing your title for release. You’ll need to build your store page, upload your builds, configure any Steamworks features, and enter your desired pricing. We’ve worked hard to streamline our tools and document all the features and functionality available to you. Check out the Steamworks documentation for more details.
  • Before your store page or game build can go live, there is a brief review process where we run your game, look at your store page, and check that it is configured correctly and running as expected and not doing anything harmful. This takes between 1-5 days.
  • There are a couple of additional timing requirements before you can release your first few titles on Steam:
  1. A 30-day waiting period between when you paid the app fee and when you can release your game. This gives us time to review your information and confirm that we know who we're doing business with.
  2. You’ll need to prepare your store page and put up a publicly-visible ‘coming soon’ page for at least two weeks. This will help you start building your audience of interested customers that can wishlist your game or participate in discussions. This also gives you the opportunity to practice how you talk about your product so that you can have the best presentation when you hit the ‘release’ button.

I don't know where you got any idea of a competition from.
This is implied by "Submissions" in the title, "vote our way to a graphic", "We'll compile every submission and decide which one looks best", and especially "Whoever wins gets the best prize". I suggest making it clear you didn't have competition in mind and none of this is definitive.

...A note on the logo. It would benefit from something more than a one-round contest. Suppose I have an idea for a particular style that takes a long time to get just right, or that 80% of the work on a project can be for the last 20% of the result. If I have five ideas that I want to get fair consideration, do I have to do all that work just so they don't lose for lack of polish? Or what if one person has a good idea but another person has better skill to execute it? Possibly do away with the competition altogether and let the logo be community-made, hmm?

Just wanted to chime in and say that even if Doxton didn't intend for the logo submission thread to be a contest, I like the idea that Weather presented in making it a multi-round contest, since this can allow for more exposure both on the forums and on Discord, and perhaps better ensure that we can represent ourselves in the best possible way.

Of course, if Doxton didn't intend on this, then the thread should be made as free from sarcasm and insincere references to a competition as possible to avoid any ambiguities.

Yeah that does make it sound like Im proposing a competition when taken in isolation.

I won't fight you over this, I'll just make my initial thread sound more professional instead, I expect your contribution in there before the end of this fiscal quarter.
Im still calling it "submission" by the way, I took cues from the Discord Server Icon Submissions thread for the title, you didn't seem very confused there.

If you can read this, fuck you!

I will make this short because I already tried to make a post once but I am an idiot. I don't see why PQ cannot be renamed to "Marble Blast Community Edition" or something as early as next update. Also, I think it is incredibly important that the game's UI is changed a little bit. In the "start menu" of PQ, you should be able to access the discord, and the leaderboards. Custom levels, and offline play should be secondary.

There are some positives, just so I don't sound like a nagging sack of pessimism. The website has taken a huge step in the right direction, and I am very happy with the tournaments. However, there are many people who are not fully aware of the discord and the leaderboards.

If you don't like camping, go for all spawns, then boom no camping :D

be cool and watch my glorious videos and you get pat
