Hi guys,

I'm playing MBP, but seem to have hit a major roadblock: Intermediate Level 12 (Roll Like the Wind).

So far, it's caused nothing but frustration. I know I can complete it too, because I've done it before on a different computer. But right now I'm at around 600 failed attempts and over 3 1/2 hours of cumulative frustration. Is there something I'm doing wrongly? Is there a certain way to do it? And what's with the Gravity Defier behind that pedestal? After that is the trap doors, which I don't think are as difficult as the wall-hit section.

My biggest problem is that part where you're expected to do a precision wall-hit in order to make it up on to that narrow beam. I think I've got a strategy for it, but have to hope it works, which most of the time, it doesn't.

Am I actually bad at it, or is that level deliberately made to be almost impossible?

If there's a bug, YO! I'll report it!

Here's a walkthrough of the level (made by Don Gato):

The hardest part of the level is probably where you have to use the shock absorber to climb up the wall in front of you (jump right before you hit the wall). Then immediately turn back, using diagonal movement, land on the ground while pressing jump in order to get up the platform there.

Hope it helps. :)

 Hot damn! I didn't even think to try that! I'll get back to you when I complete it. Thank you so much! I'll have to use this forum if I need help with a future level. Wish me luck!

My ultimate goal: Complete Marble Blast Platinum.

Roll Like the Wind was one of my more challenging levels to beat. I recall having an issue with the Par time. :P The Shock Absorber part also irritated me.

Roll Like the Wind is a tricky level. Well done making it that far though - some others that come before it aren't easy :] (Busy Bee etc).

Seeing as this is your first big trouble level, watch out for Spin Practice. It's similar, but a bit harder, and comes around Intermediate 20-ish.

Roll Like the Wind was one of the harder levels that I beat when I first started playing MBP. The wall hit is only needed if you want to get platinum or ultimate. And the gravity modifier behind that platform is used to get the easter egg.

Spin practice was #4 Intermediate, though... But that level also was troubling for me. Particularly the jump at the end. :)

I checked the MBP level selection and Spin Practice was Intermediate Level 19, but still needs to be at level 24ish. I think Marble Agility Course is too easy to be at level 28, so that needs to be around level 5ish. I had trouble at Powerup Practice at the part where there are two Super Speeds instead of three. Roll Like the Wind needs to be at level 25ish, not 12, because I struggled with that level. I also had a hard time with Marble Mini Golf: Icichole, because the friction of the grass on the slope is normal instead of high, which is too low.

The Marble Blast Gold level with which I had the most trouble was Advanced Level 50 (Pathways). It took me about an hour and maybe 100 or more attempts to get it right. One of the gems is extremely difficult to get safely.

Shouldn't this topic be called "the marble blast levels rearrangement topic"?

Guys, it took more than 700 attempts and a cumulative total of 4 hours and 23 minutes of frustration, but I finally got it! :woohoo: Roll Like the Wind is complete! I want to thank my determination and Imperial (who provided the walkthrough) for making this possible. If I need any help with a future level, I'll be sure to ask you guys. Thanks again! ;)

Oh yeah, shoutout to Xx M.O.T.B xX for further info on the level.

Well done :) Just FYI, you're not alone in the hundreds of attempts. Triple Decker world record took me a week of playing nothing else, and Kalle spent over 100 hours on Great Divide (you can see his run in the MBG Intermediate World Record Rampage #4)

Plenty of people have reached the 1000 hours though, and, again, jelly?

100 hours of playtime on GD for the double traplaunch, yes, which is a pretty strong contender for the most time spent on trying to pull off a trick.
