Well, I'm making texutres too! And I want to share it with all of you.

First, here's my prototype of vanishing block!

Using the same principle as one of Technostick's levels, this block will disappear as soon as the marble touches it. What do you think of this?

I like the idea, and that texture looks really cool, but I would have preferred if you made some more textures then making a forum post about it.

Hey guys, it's been so long in this thread.

But today, I've been making more marble textures that I'm sure you will enjoy.

"Paris Saint Germain" Marble

Captain America's Marble

Batman's Marble

Superman's Marble

Flash's Marble (recommended for Xelna ;) )

I hope you enjoy, cuz I have 25 other textures left and I'm still making more of them.

To download them, select a picture and drag it out to your custom marble directory!

Yo!

Those days, I made over 30 new marble textures! But I need your help, because I don't know if you want a new marble, or, if so, what do you want on it.
That's why, to help you out or to give you ideas, I made a table representing what I mean.

Damn, that's some sexy looking marble skins! You'll have to make a video or sommething for a tutorial on how to install them correctly though. :|

Glad you got to some of my requests. ;)

I would also love to see a video tutorial on how to properly install marble skins that work (i.e, mbp doesn't crash).
[strike]I have tons of marbles[/strike] I've made a lot of marble skins over the years that I would love to be able to use.

I really like the middle right sky-ish blue one

also, making the skins quite transparent seems to lessen the sky reflection, something good to note.

Rozi and Nathan, I did a mistake and I could directly place the textures and the .dts file in a few folders you could directly put in your custom marbles directories. You'll be warned if I update the archive. I'm really sorry about that.

Battlecube : Noted the idea, but which colors do you want?

Hey, I have an idea for my marble..

Can my marble have like a dark colour at the bottom, but slowly turns a light colour at the top? Just like the picture at the bottom right, but with the colour blue please?
Also, put a "Lee" on the marble? :p
(You choose the colour for my name please :P)

lee is awesome

Are there supposed to be images in the first post? I don't see any.
Anyway, the marble skins are really cool looking! Just curious what software you are using.

I can take some of them, but not all of them, I'm not sure. I'll see what I can do.

About the skybox, don't worry, I keep making skyboxes, but this will be a bit tough because coloring the clouds will affect the color of the atmosphere, so I have to find a way outta this mess. Oh, and I might add I've done 8 new skyboxes yesterday... :)

These are incredible! Could you make me a treble clef please? Or a treble clef on one side and a bass clef on the other side? Or a pi? Just spewing out ideas, so sorry if it sounds a little rude.
I am touched that you included me in your list. Thank you!

Hey, everyone! :D
Thanks so much for the positive comments I received about the new custom marbles! Some are still in making, so don't worry!

Well, lately, I've been making a bunch of skyboxes at class or at home. And today, I'm going to release 15 of them in a Mini Skybox Pack!
What? If you can use those skyboxes in your custom levels? Of course you can, but don't forget to credit me, it rewards the achieved work.

Now, time for some appetizing sneak peeks of what you're going to download.

Amber Storm

Blue Islands

Peaceful Lake

Gray Valley

Winter Dawn

And 10 more skyboxes you'll discover by yourself!

I hope you enjoy, and there's more stuff to come in the future! Like the marbles Nature proposed me, for example. :P

Very, very good! I just love how these look! What program did you make them in? And could you maybe make desktop backgrounds of these with higher resolution?

If not, that's fine too! I just love these skyboxes!

:cheer:

Looks like Terragen. If I recall correctly there's a maximum resolution you can export using the free version.

This signature is real code
Code:
function clientcmd12dothepq() { commandToClient(LocalClientConnection, '34onthedancefloor'); }

Indeed, HiGuy, if my memory doesn't trick me, you can't export pics that are over 2048x2048 pixels in the free version.
Thanks for the kind words, LC!

It's simple to fix, just copy a sky_day.dml from another folder of my skyboxes to Blue Islands, since it works for all the skyboxes.

Recently, I made a showcase about some new skyboxes I started making 3 weeks ago.

If you missed it :

Well, I'm pleased to announce that it is a total of 27 new PQ skyboxes that are now released.

www.mediafire.com/file/7c60jusw5lq2y5n/New_PQ_Skyboxes.zip?dl=1

You can obviously use them in your levels, but make sure to credit me!

Expect more stuff from me to come. Levels? Sounds? Marbles? More skyboxes? Who knows what will happen next! ;)
Oh, and I'm open to any request on new skyboxes. I'll examinate your suggestions and try to grant them the best way I can. So you can start asking! :)

Those look pretty cool. The only flaw (or maybe it's the video compression) seems to be that several of them are running the color values right into the ceiling, making a sharp saturated crease before fading towards white. For example in Warp Zone a nearly white line is surrounded by two other lines that mark where the green channel, going from the darkest part of the skybox to the lightest, hit the highest possible value (255). Less noticeable is where the blue hits the maximum.

You can solve this problem by using gradients that ease in and out rather than fade linearly. I think you can also turn down the saturation (in this case you'd probably need to modify the input colors for the gradient and re-generate it rather than using an image editor to do it after exporting).

You reminded me that I made some Blender skyboxes for Rozi's Mini Mod that didn't end up being used. Maybe I should do something with them . . .

Out of the ones you've shown here my favorites are Red and Blue, Scary Waves, and Frozen Galaxy.

About Warp Zone, after a short investigation, I can conclude it is definitely the video compression that enhances the saturation of the gradients. Dunno how that happened. It made the same thing for Dusk.
