Hi!
Man, it's been a long time since I posted a level! Now, I have 2 more for all!
The first level is Mini Skill Course, which is, well... a mini skill course. The second level is a zero-gravity pathfinder in space called Space Exploration. I want to give credit to a few people: First, Picklecow for the Z-control code; This level would not be possible without it! Second, Phil, for the Sphere map. Mine never convert...
Anyway, hope you enjoy them and don't forget to vote in LotM!

Also, I've re-uploaded all of my levels and posted all of the links on the first page.
Anyway, enjoy Secret Skills!

OMG mega bump and quad post.
This level, Invisible Force, is not so much of a level as it is a demonstration of how to do something. Download it on the first page.

You didn't include the interior. But that's not going to work on macs anyway because textures with alpha channels just crash the game.

Nice demonstration, the texture actually didn't crash the game for me. I don't know why; I thought it may be just because it's on a moving platform but that wasn't the case. Maybe because it's just an alpha channel and no actual image? Don't know, but it could prove helpful.

Also, I guess that's how MBE did their colmeshes as well.

The following is a review Buzzmusic100...

Great job Marblemaster! It's awesome to see a new level from you.

Three-Fold Skill Course is an interesting level and I like the layout. I'm starting to like pathfinding levels more. So I found a path for this level that can go under a minute. I thought that the different colors looked a little messy, but they helped me know where I was. And the idea for the start was pretty interesting.

Keep in mind that when I criticize, I'm not trying to be mean or anything. I'm just trying to be constructive.

Creativity: 7.5
I'd give you an 8 for the challenges and 7 for the idea. I've seen skill courses and three fold mazes, but it was cool seeing both of them combined. The random force curve part was very original and also the ice part before it.

Fun Factor: 7.5
It kind of depends if you think of a good and easy path. When I figured out how to get all of the diamonds quickly and easily, I had loads of fun! But the random force curve part is not all that fun and the wall trick isn't either. Also, how is the random force/water part done?

Level editing: 6.5
You actually admitted your wall texture problem in the level. That takes bravery. But if you know it's there, you could always fix it. There were also some other minor problems with texturing. But I do think that the random force curve part was really well done and there were some other great curves as well.

Presentation: 6.75
The idea of colors is good, but you kind of overused it. As I said before, it looks a little messy. I know 6.75 is a weird number, but I really couldn't decide between 6.5 and 7.

Do the math and this gets a 7.0625. But because level editing and presentation aren't as important as gameplay, I'll give you a 7.5 instead. After I found a good path, the level became really fun and I loved playing it! Good job, Marblemaster.

Thanks for the awesome review, ajdallas/Buzzmusic! On the subject of the misaligned texture, I'm absolutely hopeless at re-aligning textures, so instead I decided to go for some humor and pretend to be the wizard of Oz. Overall, though, thanks. It really makes me happy when people take the time to write a review of my levels.

EDIT: Also, if you're doing a wall trick, you're doing it the hard way. You can just bounce up to the platform. Jumping against random force puts an enormous amount of spin on the marble. And do you know the secret for un-randomizing random force?

That's pretty clever, actually. Technically that's not the intended pathway, but whatever. Nice!

(Although I got 18.76 by doing the fun path)

Oh ho ho, but I already have a 9.53, recorded this time!
This path is now way harder in comparison due to the height difference.

(Sorry it's choppy. This is the end of a 5 minute recording of fails, blunders and almost-OH GOD NO I FAILED moments)

Wrong. There was an 8 minute recording I scrapped before it. Thanks!
Why not try wasting 13 minutes how to solve my puzzle level? *deleted*

I just downloaded it and the interior is messed up, the entire middle is missing.

Quote:And what about Volcano and Elemental Blast? Between then and now I got a new computer, and unfortunately those levels didn't make it through.

The localhostr links still appear to work (middle of page 1), and both levels are in the April 2010 level pack..

Hmm... Do you mean that the big MP (Which is the main part of the level) isn't there? Because I moved it out of my MBP folder and re-downloaded and it works for me.

EDIT: Found Volcano and Elemental, re-uploaded them, and put the stuff on the main post.

It's because the mission file says interiorResource = marble/data/interiors/DualRace.dif; where the moving platform is, if I remember correctly. Change the marble/data to $usermods @ /data next time you make a level with a moving platform and it should work for everyone.

This level is marvelous. The best thing about this level, in my opinion, was the feeling of speed. While jumping on the slopes and across the gaps of the MP, there was a sense of motion that I don't normally see in levels. The challenges in the level were perfect since they were simple enough to be fun and interesting enough to make the level more...interesting. The teleporter was clever, the whole idea of the level was clever, and in the end, it's an incredibly enjoyable level. Great job, Marblemaster1!

Ah, I forgot that in MBP 1.20 the folder is platinum, not marble. I'll fix it later; too lazy right now.

Also thanks for the compliments Buzzmusic! I had the same sort of thing in mind when I created the level; I wanted the constant speed to put pressure on the player.

I have never been good at texture alignment... look at any of my levels as proof.

My next level I have already started on in QuArK, and right now I will only give one detail: Expect lots of shortcuts.

My new level, Castle of Inversion, is almost complete... almost.
Since my username is remarkably wrong, I am having some trouble setting PT and UT. So I was wondering if anybody would be willing to test the level for me. All you would have to do is play through the level and PM me your best time.

(Plus, you'd get to play it before everybody else )
