SUPPORT BOARD OVERVIEW & TIPS:

About Receiving Help from the Support Board: While all members may answer questions posted in the Support board, you should only rely on responses posted or confirmed by support moderators and website administrators. Any solutions provided by members of the community that are not verified by a staff member (as indicated by a light-green background) are provided as-is, and we cannot take responsibility for any of the results of said actions.

About Responding to Support Threads: If you feel you know the answer to a question, you are welcome to respond to the thread and politely offer assistance. Please be courteous and try to provide detailed and helpful solutions to users who may not be as advanced as you. We ask that you refrain from posting one-sentence solutions.

Please search for existing topics before creating one! It's quite likely someone else has already encountered a similar issue which was resolved. You can search for existing support threads by clicking here .

After finding that MBP 1.50 Beta 3 had been released, I went to marbleblast.com to download it. Just before I decided to download the beta, I browsed through your downloads section just to see the other interesting mods and custom levels for Marble Blast. After clicking the download button for the .zip file, I was informed that I had reached my download limits for that day. I then came back daily to download the file, but that message still kept coming up even if I even tried downloading only that file. I eventually got around it by using the MEGA download link.

However, I want to download a few files from this site (that conveniently have no alternate download links). So, if the download limits are based on IP addresses, I'm sunk since my IP address is a static one. Is there any other way to obtain the files I want to obtain?

This is a fairly known issue. If you want to download content from the site, you could try to make an account, or have someone else download or mirror it for you. Otherwise, if it doesn't work, I don't know what to say. The forum's download manager is really funky.

Now that I'm thinking about it, it may be trying to count downloads for all offline users as one. I'll have to contact Aayrl about this, but creating an account should help in the meantime.

This signature is real code
Code:
function clientcmd12dothepq() { commandToClient(LocalClientConnection, '34onthedancefloor'); }

Hi There,

Creating an account will definitely solve the issue, though the website should allow Guest users 5 downloads per day, regardless of their IP address or their proximity to existing users or guest accounts. I'll look into the issue and contact the jDownloads team and see if they can provide any insight into the issue. We may end up removing download restrictions altogether, we just need to do some further data analysis on our back end to ensure our website can handle that kind of overhead.

I'll try to keep folks posted in this thread with any groundbreaking information I discover regarding this issue.

Thanks,
~Aayrl

Guess what? I've been thinking of creating an account for a couple of weeks now! Is this a coincidence or what? Anyway, thanks for the replies. I hope that this issue will be fixed soon.

Actually, the issue has been resolved. I'm the anon user who first posted on this thread. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, I could only post occasionally and I guess I forgot about it. You can mark this closed now.

Move along, nothing to see here, blah blah blah, why are you still reading this?
