I don't know if it's my computer being a total retard, but whenever I try to install PQ, things go wrong! So, I run the launcher, I set the destination folder to C:/Program Files/PlatinumQuest, I click on Play, the loading bar fills up, and suddenly, the launcher closes and... nothing happens.

Worse, when I go to that directory, I found out that... the folder was empty! Nothing was installed, nothing, nada, rien, walou, nothing!
I have the latest version of Java and the launcher runs normally until I press the play button.

Why is the launcher behaving that way?

Chances are the launcher doesn't have permission to create files in C:\Program Files because it requires administrator privileges. You can try running the launcher as admin and installing it there, but you'll have to authenticate every time you want to change files and I doubt PQ will be very happy about not being able to write to where it saves prefs. I would recommend using somewhere else to store the game, that isn't restricted to admin accounts.

Okay, so I have installed PQ in another directory, which leads me to another bigger problem.

Well, have you ever encountered the "0xc000007b" error that causes PQ not to run? Because I am.
Any solutions for this?

You may need to install the latest version of the MSVC runtime, you can get it from Microsoft here: go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=746572
