Gonna jump in and throw my 2 cents (I could be entirely wrong though, however): I think Fubar is showing that there's an update available because it can't connect to the servers due to the code that handles that in Fubar being old and unmaintained ever since it went offline in 2017(?). I assume the way it checks for new versions is it compares a version variable within the copy of Fubar to the version variable of the latest version which it gets from the site, however, because it's not able to connect to the site, it's effectively comparing the version variable to a null variable, and as we know, a defined number (or string) does not equal to null, so it thinks that there's a new version "null" when there's actually no new version.

Again I could be utterly wrong about this, but I thought it would be fun to throw my theory in
