Mac Marble Blast Platinum 1.12

Um yeah - I bought the MBG and then I installed MBP, it was all good. But then I pressed play on the beginner level and it completely freezes. I have version 1.12 on the macbook.
Please help.

Did you launch Marble Blast Gold before installing Marble Blast Platinum? If not, delete MBP, launch MBG, and try installation again.

Yes I did, but the thing is, MBG didnt run when I bought it. the screen just went white with the black sides for a loooong time.
And then I quit and installed MBP and it went fine up till the freeze.

I didnt read the notice at the start of MBP either and now its gone every time I go onto it.

Okay, I've got a bug; MBP won't even start up when I use the installer, but when I install it manually it starts up, gets through the first 3 screens, but then doesn't show the menu after that, it's just all black. The white triangle arrow shows and is able to move through all of this, but it's the only thing I see after the welcome screens. Remember that that only gets that far when I manually install it, doesn't even show the screens with the installer. Hopefully this will get fixed soon.

Sounds like an ignition problem to both.

Ignition in what manner? Launching the game, or a registration with GG problem? MBG and the old MBP launch fine, I did buy MBG.

You mean the installer crashed? I want a log for marbleblast- console.log in user/Library/Marbleblast. The installer creates a log in MBP's package contents; may as well send that too.

Oh! *hit self in forehead* That makes sense! I was looking at the one in MBP itself, which hasn't been changed since '06, I totally forgot that it puts one in the Library/MarbleBlast folder, yeah I'll post that. I can't now because I'm not at my house, I'm at my grandparents house, testing MBP on a G4 iMac. It works fine, perfectly. Installer and gameplay. Just a little slower. (old computer, not the gaming type)

Both OS..es are the latest versions of Tiger 10.4.11 BTW. Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna eventually upgrade to leopard. I'm waiting to get it for free though.

EDIT: Thanks for the warning level drop, I promise to never do anything that might POSSIBLY be illegal, ever again.

Looks to me like it's an invisible (or not) file in Contents that keeps it from working... which I've manually fixed, and now I'm gonna go find every Easter Egg in the game.

I copied MBG's Contents folder over the MBP installation, and now it works. Didn't work when I copied all the visible files separately back over. I could easily find out what invisible file keeps it from working, buuuhhht, not now. I'm doing other things at this second. Sorry.

EDIT: The mouse sensitivity slider STILL has no effect in MBP.

That would be helpful if you could sort out what file (or lack of) was screwing it up And, I didn't know there was a mouse sensitivity slider, that's never worked even in MBG I believe; just edit it in MBPprefs.cs.

Yeah that's what I have to do, change it from 0.75 to 0.2 that's MBG's lowest setting. I need it that way if I want to be able to play MBP and not lose my MBO skillz.

I'm finding out what makes MBP not work... The file is... *drumrolls* the... contents folder. When I replace the files into MBP's folder from MBG's, no change. When I replace the entire folder, it works perfectly.

You mean the actual folder, not whats in it? Hm. Please send me one not-working and one working (and email, not upload to a public location).

Okay, but I'm sure you've already seen them. The one in the MBG disk image and the one that MBP installs. I'd need to reinstall MBP to do that and I really don't want to.

But to save you guys time... then, I'll give it a go.

The only difference I can see if the C in the name of the folder is a capital C, the folder MBP installs in a lowercase c.

A problem with the MBG statistics page, it displays that I have 0/120 gold times, probably looking to the MBP levels, which don't have gold times.

Please search before posting bugs. For the who-knows-how-many-times, I said we were aware of this for MONTHS now and it WILL be fixed.

Just installed using the new Mac installer..... now that's a heck of a lot easier than manually installing! Great work, and thanks!

I had an OEM version of the game, but have since purchased a version and the install was flawless. The only thing that I notice is that some high scores disappear occasionally - that bug was already documented though, I believe.

Anyways, just wanted to congratulate whoever created the installer (Ben I think). Good work!

I followed the installer steps and located MBG and everything but then it just quits unexpectedly and I can confirm that I have the version from Garage Games as according to the picture below. However when I open MBG the version which MBG shows at the start screen thing is 1.5.3. Please help as I am eager to play, no matter how many bugs!!!

1.5.3 MarbleBlast Gold is fine, that's the one you get from the GarageGames website. If you don't want to keep your old scores (it makes things a little easier) try erasing the folder named MarbleBlast in your User>Library (if you don't know how to get there, in finder hit command-shift-g and type in ~/Library). Open MarbleBlast Gold again, quit, then run the installer....see if that works. If you do want to keep your old scores, in that MarbleBlast folder I mentioned earlier go into marble>client and back up the prefs.cs file. You can copy that back in after you re run MBG. Good luck!

First thing you should try is opening package contents of your MarbleBlast Gold (control-click on the app, choose show package contents) and copying the Frameworks folder to the clipboard. Paste this into the package contents of MarbleBlast Platinum and choose to replace.

Hi trainy, here. I used a different solution. The install destination was the same as the original copy of MBG which caused a problem. I installed MBP in a separate folder on my desktop and it worked But now when I open it, the manual works fine, but the options, replay center and exit buttons dont work. I had to quit with cmd + Q! And when I click play it comes to level 0 which doesn't load and if I click on Beginner, Intermediate etc. it just doesn't do anything. Even after I switch games it still doesn't work! Please help me!!!!!!!

Can you find the data folder inside the marble folder? It almost sounds as if those folders are incomplete.

Not likely. If I remember correctly, it was because the divisions were both in the library and in the package contents of Marble Blast Gold. It's been on the known issues list.

Hi, i`m having a problem on the instalation.
I have MBG original, came with my imac g5. But i already intall and re-intall several times for other problems. I tried uncessufully to install MBP when we had to do several copy and deletes folders. I never got it and quit. Know i was very happy because i didn`t have to do anything, but when a pressed the install button the installation program just shut down with no explanation.
