September has ended. Some rockstar guy needs to be woken up.

DoxtonPink requested a PSA about good dental hygiene, so: attention!! By order of the Council for Hygienic Oversight of Marblers' PowerUps, otherwise known as C.H.O.M.P., all marblers are hereby advised to brush their teeth for no less than two minutes, twice daily, and floss immediately afterwards. We understand that Groovyball looks like a very tasty jawbreaker.

Customs Roll Call
Three months remain of Customs Roll Call; September brings six returning runners storming through its set of a dozen levels. While nothing in particular stands out regarding a theme or a run significantly better than the others, there will always be something to highlight here and there! Two traplaunches, a gnarly sign hit after some tightropes, a jumping edge hit on a rising moving platform? Don’t miss out!

If you still happen to be unfamiliar with this event, Customs Roll Call is a year-long speedrunning event where twelve levels are announced at the beginning of every month. Players spend the month grinding for the best times, which are then compiled into a video released with the next group of levels.

Here is the video for September! October's levels are found at the end of the post.

Custom Levels
Connie shocked everyone by posting four levels in the first few days of September, followed by a fifth level halfway through the month demonstrating that she wasted the time to learn QuArK for one instance. “g Valley” is DKman00’s impressive debut to level building, developed straight from his brain, and Marblemaster’s “Learn to Marble!” is the most complex rolling tutorial you’ll ever see. Do take a look around.
While zyphor had released 14 levels during the month, twelve of them were of his newest collection of levels called PQ UP!, PlatinumQuest-themed custom with unmissable inspiration from Marble Blast’s spiritual successor Marble It Up!

Speedrunning
September continued a return to a more mellow speedrunning scene throughout the month—of course, there were more records than what’s listed below, but all with pretty minimal improvements. Maybe the standout here is August taking a second off of “Gym”.

Don’t miss the rest of the list, because it’s packed with seconds being shaved off of old records and it’s just awesome.

Marble Blast Platinum:
  • Gym – 44.467 (August) – prev. 45.485 (Powerjohn25)
Marble Blast Ultra:
  • Hypercube – 4.527 (Charlix) – prev. 4.691 (berserk)
Custom Levels:
  • Random Things – 4.642 (August) – prev. 4.810 (Charlix)
  • Trumpet – 8.903 (August) – prev. 9.575 (DKman00)
Turns out we’ve been doing Trumpet wrong for so many years, and that you can just jump around the bell.

Multiplayer
Following the conclusion of the 2026 Summer Premier , the broadcast of ShadowVisions' sweep over Frostfire in the grand final was uploaded to the community channel, featuring both players' perspectives simultaneously!

Miscellaneous
Once again, two months in a row with a Connections puzzle, now based around Marble Blast Platinum levels. One more for a streak! October Preview
That wraps up September!

As PlatinumQuest version 2.14.0 is planned to release at the start of October, Frostfire has spoken of a month-long racing tournament, geared for the singleplayer folk out there, that will utilize a new racing gamemode.

Meanwhile, Frightfest makes a return during the entire month, which will feature a single-day tournament of some casual, mild chaos a couple weeks down the road. Keep an eye out for the announcement!

And of course, the next set of levels for Customs Roll Call:

I hope I’m allowed to post here. There’s a mistake in the news article that should be resolved:

  • Hypercube – 4.527 (Hypercube) – prev. 4.691 (berserk)

Strangely, the mistake is not present in the post.

I’m trying to be helpful; I don’t want to sound pedantic. If you would rather not have suggestions like this, I understand. (It wasn’t about writing preference, but a genuine error.) And if posting here is prohibited, I apologise — and in that case, this should be deleted or moved.

Also, the “smart quoting” is inconsistent; there are straight quotes mixed with curly ones.

I’ll probably lose sleep over the fact that saying this could get me banned.

All4Vols98, plazma, The idiot in blue, WeatherWonders, and zyphor are underrated level creators.

You're totally fine!! Pointing out mistakes is a good thing. This was even the best place to do so. Thanks for the heads up. I have fixed it.

Yeah, technically the levels are accessible all year long, but the spotlight on the spooky season is for October. =) The little GUI goodies will go away after Halloween, that day-long tournament I mentioned will happen towards the end of the month too. (And I'm trying to convince the other developers that yes, having the Frightfest levels accessible only during October is actually a good idea and not everything has to be presented to the player year-round because where's the joy in the exclusivity then?)

I've also been pushing for the levels being exclusive online since even before that, and, while talking about the bugfixes for 2.14.0, Randomity said that he should be able to get that in, probably for 2.14.1.

Part of the reason the holiday switcher (implemented a year ago) requires putting in secret codes offline is also part of this idea. It's meant to be exclusive, but, with cheat codes, you can technically access them any time. Seems like a fitting thing for a cheat code to do.

This really was a platinum quest, you guys.

New mistake found:

And I know you’ve been copying and pasting “Don’t miss the rest of the list, because it’s packed with seconds being shaved off of old records and it’s just awesome.” Admit it.

This would be reasonable enough, but it doesn’t mix well with “September continued a return to a more mellow speedrunning scene throughout the month—of course, there were more records than what’s listed below, but all with pretty minimal improvements.” This juxtaposition is amusing to me.

And the “!!” in “attention!!” was bothering me for ages, as a single “!” with bold text would look better. I decided not to say that until now, because it’s a legitimate stylistic choice and I don’t want to sound like that much of a jerk. (I was already pushing my luck…) I put spaces around my em dashes — simply because I like how it looks — so I have no right to judge.

On another note, I second enderman0125; I prefer when the UI is clean. Perhaps make the decorations toggleable? And in that case, there’s no reason to make that toggle only exist on those occasions. If you still don’t like that, maybe add a “secret” cheat code for it — like the hidden Konami Code game-mirroring feature. This isn’t a strong opinion, though; I don’t mind if it’s exclusive to certain occasions. But at the very least, allow the holiday decorations to be disabled at any time.

Plus, replays recorded in the new update completely break when viewed. In some cases, the marble is invisible; in others, the entire replay is replaced with a large question mark. This suggests the level doesn’t load properly using the new replay system.

Before I noticed that bug, I was excited that I wouldn’t have to wait half a minute or so for the replay menu to load, and that the days of moving old replays out of the game folder (to cut loading times) were over. Oh, well.

My writing is sloppy, yet I gave you corrections and (foolish) opinions when you’re a far better writer. The irony is thick.

Text justification doesn’t work. Darn it — I love justified text.

Edit: Thanks for adding the suggestions!

Edit 2: New bug found. See the below attachment. Also, there is no 99:59.999 in the top scores.

Edit 3: The numbers are seemingly random for each level, and they change every visit.

Edit 4: Never mind. The bug is fixed.

All4Vols98, plazma, The idiot in blue, WeatherWonders, and zyphor are underrated level creators.
