Time Capsule #17 - 2026 Predictions

Once a year we get to gather together and celebrate another year having come and gone. In the Marble Blast community we take this time at the start of the year to make predictions about how things will play out in our lives and in the wider world around us. A new year is upon us, let the predictions begin!

Reply to this thread with your predictions for the upcoming year. Will you set a bunch of new Personal Bests in PQ? Will you maybe even set a World Record or two? Will you improve as a gem hunter, as a pathfinder, as a player, as a person? What about your real life? Do you think you will set out to do anything special this year? What do you think will happen to you? What will the rest of the world get up to? Make your predictions, however far-fetched you think they might be! 

And for everyone who participated in last year's Time Capsule, take a look at your predictions from  last year and make a post in this years thread of looking backwards and seeing how well you did.

Marble Blast
- Pack 9 releases and one of my levels is included.
- The game gets a native Linux port.
- I start working on my custom level series more.
- I release at least 15 custom levels this year.
- I do another collab level
- Not really about MB, but close enough: I'll get WR on Tossed About from Marble It Up! Ultra

Other Video Games
- On my 19th birthday, I get a Nintendo Switch 2. Mario Kart World then becomes the game that takes up all my free time.
- I will add at least 10 more games to my game collection. It currently includes: Mario Kart Double Dash!!, Pocketbike Racer, Sneak King, Xbox Live Arcade Compilation Disc, Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged, Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort.
- I play a ton of Mario Kart Wii custom tracks/online.
- I get back to playing Minecraft.

Personal Life/Pohleeticks™
- I actually get my driver's license.
- I'll get an actual real domain for my website now that the freedns domain I used died.
- After his party lost in the April election, Pierre Poilievre faces and fails a leadership review and someone else replaces him.
- Approval of Trump gets worse and worse, and Democrats take the House in the midterms. Maybe even the Senate if things get really bad.

Second time doing this!! (god it's been so long)

Marble Blast predictions:
- I will release a demo of Marble Blast Wildron.
- I will get 80 million overall ranking.
- I will get 35 Awesome Times in PQ.
- I will get over 95% of the ultimate times in PQ.
- I will have atleast 1 level made by me in Pack 9 (again, pack 9 hasn't been released)
- I will make 25 levels.
- I will make atleast 1 collab level.
- I think I'll get all PQ nest eggs.
- Another Vietnamese will join the community.

Not Marble Blast predictions:
- I will get a 7 in Literature on the 2nd end-term exam.
- I will play Geometry Dash and Minecraft more.

Well seeing as my 2025 predictions were 4/10, so heck let's just go off the walls with crazy predictions this year! Among the other more ordinary predictions as well. 

Marble Blast:
- Despair will remain unbeaten (ez w)
- 3 people will achieve 100% Awesome
- Someone will set a very unexpected WR
- Exactly 38 PQ World Records will be set
- Level of the Year 2026 will win in a landslide victory
- One or two major controversies will rattle the community but ultimately help bring us together
- A new person will join the community this year and become a prominent and trustworthy player rather quickly

Personal Life
- Wouldn't be a Time Capsule without Doomblah's driver's license prediction would it? I will get it this year! This is the year, I know it!
- I will read at least 16 books this year (bonus for 24+)
- I will buy/receive significantly fewer than the 112 books I got last year (under 30)
- I will start dating someone

Wider World
- A major social media company will shut down. 
- The number 61 will feature prominently in a major political scandal
- A complete brain-rot meme will take over public consciousness for a week and then be just as quickly forgotten

Third time let's do this. 

Marble Blast: 

-Platform Party MBG and Despair will remain unbeaten
-Pack 9 will be released, and I will go for 200M rating if it's released 
-One or two people will get their first World Record in the Leaderboards
-I will set at least 5 PBs in MBG levels
-I will get WRs in 35 or more different levels available in Leaderboards (including customs) 
-Someone from the Philippines will join the community
-I will make at least one level

Discord

-I will get a Discord Nitro this year 
-I will try not to say pornographic words after beating a WRR5/WRR6 time in Marble Blast Gold levels 
-I will post in "Other Discussion channels" ex. #aww (about pets)

IRL

-My auntie Marina will go home again this year, and host another outing
-I might study in college (My aunt Marina and my cousin Pristine from Canada wanted me to do this)
-Buy at least two Speed Stacks sets
-I will go to a mall that I haven't visited yet
-I will go to my aunt in law's condo once or more in a year
-I will have a buffet on Vikings at SM Megamall on my 27th birthday
- I won't go to an outing with my cousin Rowena from USA

Others

-APT will win any category at 68th Grammys
-The flood control project scandal will never end
-Rodrigo Duterte will still be in Netherlands by the end of the year 
-AM6 and DDR6 CPUs, RAM, and Motherboards will be released this year. 

Hey, this is my first time doing one of these, and also my first post on the Marble Blast forums. If I did something wrong, let me know so I can use these forums better.

Anyways, here are my 2026 predictions.

Marble Blast:
-MBG Ordeal world record will be beaten
-MBG Battlements world record will remain unbeaten
-One player will set their first MBG world record
-A notable player will announce their retirement from Marble Blast
-I will achieve a score of 300+ on MBU Sprawl

Marble it Up (yes, really):
-The total number of world records improved as of Ultra WRR1 will reach 35/117 (18/117 at the time of posting)
-The Time Capsule (Ultra) world record will be beaten
-I will achieve a time under 35 minutes in the Full Game Classic RTA category

Personal Life:
-I will buy my first house
-Something on my car will break and I will need to replace it
-I will lose enough weight to get under 100kg

Other:
-The Brisbane Lions will win the AFL 2026 Premiership to complete a set of 3 premierships in a row
-Scott Pendlebury will announce his retirement from AFL after over 20 seasons

MBG stuff:

-Pathways 15.8 cycle is performed. (By anyone including me)

-Platform Party is beaten this year.

-I finally get WR on Spork in the Road

-Will o Wisp 9.5 or lower with the catch

- I get Tube Treasure sub-20

- #1 rank in MBG overall.

- Monster Speedway 3.8

IRL Stuff:

- Possibly find a better paying job

- Continue making more of an effort and posting on my main HappyTreeX1 YT channel.

- Continue my sobriety from alcohol.

- Possibly get a tattoo?

- Be more vulnerable. Open up a bit more about things.

Hopefully things go as good if not better than last year. See you guys in 1 year.

Personal Predictions (MB and not):
- I will at least semi-publicly release Fusion.
- I will give up on one project.
- I will release a level with all-Custom assets (textures, shapes, and so on).
- Maybe this year I'll meet up with a Community Member.
- I will hopefully become more involved/active when it comes to PQ Development.
- I will stream Mission "No Mods Left Behind" more often, but I will basically have dropped Marbleland streams entirely.
- I will join the development team of a new mod.
- I will start playing Traps solo and beat it.

- I will, to the delight of Nockess, finally start watching RWBY.
- I will write at least 2 more blog entries (either here or somewhere else (or on my site maybe))
- I will hopefully have finally started HRT.
- I will hopefully have joined a political party and have gotten more involved in Romania's political life.
- Maybe I'll get bored one day and have the free-time necessary to take a quick visit to Bulgaria.
- My Uni Practice periods will go well and nothing bad will happen whatsoever.
- Maybe this will be the year when I'll visit more of Moldova - bonus points if the visit involves Chișinău.
- I will walk the Bucharest-Ilfov border at least 5 more times this year, each time in different spots.
- As a continuation of the former prediction, I will have visited every Neighborhood in Bucharest at least once (yes, even the badly famed ones) - half a point if I visit every neighborhood but chicken out of the badly famed ones.
- As a continuation of the continuation, if I do visit the badly famed neighborhoods, I will hopefully not be in a situation where I'm chased around by druggies in Ferentari.
- I will graffiti my name somewhere in Bucharest.
- I will continue to go to the IKEA on the opposite end of the city just for their cheap hotdogs.
- I will finally start my physical media/old tech collection.
- I will either fully buy the apartment I'm renting currently, or look for & buy a new one.

Non-personal Predictions:
- Fubar will be handed out to someone or a team of people which will patch whatever issues there are with its offline mode and progress there not saving, which will revive Fubar and incentivize people to speedrun it more.
- Some big community meetup will happen - which I will not attend.
- Another older community member will check-in with the community.
- Some big name will be banned from the community for whatever reason.
- Another WRR will be released.

- The Bolojan Government will fall.
- Sector 6 Mayoral elections take place. Whichever candidate is supported by Ciucu (former mayor) will win.
- The Midterms will be won overwhelmingly by the Democrats.
- Ilfov County and Bucharest will be unified in a subdivision reform that is long overdue.
- Some sort of big (100k+) protest or manifest will happen in Bucharest.

This year, let's not be very cocky – a bit less serious predictions, this time.

Marble Blast   
• Get all UTs in official levels (I have 2 MBU, 5 PQ expert and mostly MBP expert left)
• YouTube comeback
•More MBP custom levels released - some PQ custom levels released here and there, but that are much better than the official levels quality wise
• A few MBG and MBU custom levels? Yes please!
• Kula World in Marble Blast 2 or another level pack of mine drops
• 90 million rating (actually at 83 ish)
• Staying away from tourneys as usual - playing more multiplayer and building some actual skill 

Real life  
• Get my own house
• Sharpen my social skills
• Develop dating skills somehow (not a big priority but interesting to mention)
• Part ways with my toxic parents 
• Get my driving license
• Get even better at cooking (discover more recipes)
• PSG, Barça, Bayern or Arsenal wins the Champions League 
• Lyon wins the Europa League 
• Strasbourg reaches Conference League semis
• Portugal or Spain wins the World Cup - France crashes at ro16 
• Morocco, Nigeria or Algeria wins the AFCON (why would I ever count on DRC 💀)
• Finally open my bodycount (I was very close in 2025)

Hello! Here we go again.

Marbs
- With the goal of reaching 100M rating past me, I will not climb the ranks in general as much as I did last year.
- However, I will focus my efforts mostly on MBG, and see a serious improvement in both my times and in the rankings, surpassing my Ultra rank.
- I will beat all of my MBG and MBU times from before 2024, INCLUDING Collect the Gems in MBG
- MBU WRR3 releases this year, but I will not have a world record run.
- I will achieve one World Record in any category, but it will get beaten back.
- On top of that, I will get alarmingly close to a World Record in a MBG level, but I will not be able to take the top spot.
- PlatinumQuest sees a serious resurgence in World Record activity, but no talks of a WRR quite yet.
- Someone manages to complete a WR run on Treacherous Pits with the unholy path. Bonus points if it isn't Mazik.
- There are talks about a hypothetical WR rampage for Leaderboards customs, but nothing is finalised and the project fails to get off the ground.
- Marble Blast Advanced sees some kind of speedrunning interest in the community once again, but dies down after a while.
- Someone makes a hit video about Filtration, and it has a serious spike in popularity.

No Marbs
- I get better at both playing the piano and musical composition. 
- I learn some songs on the piano, but I write more songs of my own than I learn other people's music.
- I finally get a proper harmonica again after years of not playing, however I will not learn it properly as I will be too busy with the piano among other hobbies and work.
- I do not release any music on my own, but I help out in another project that involves music.
- I will become invested in a new genre of music that I haven't shown serious interest in before.
- I get a job before I turn 18, but it will only last a very short amount of time.
- I volunteer somewhere, probably at a cafe, just to put a smile on my face.
- I will continue to get Distinctions on all of my college assignments/exams, and I may find myself getting praise or an award because of that.
- I will start looking at universities in the United Kingdom, and make a final decision on which degree I want to go for after I graduate college.
- My mother and I will seriously consider adopting a pet cat, however this will be refused by the landlord of our home
- My room sees more decoration, and I start inviting people over to the house for the first time in years
- I will finish Pokemon Ultra Sun, for once and for all...
- I will continue my post-game playthrough of Miitopia for 3DS and progress towards a 100% completion.
- I will start my 4th playthrough of Miitopia for Switch, albeit in German this time.
- My language-learning hobby will fizzle out, however I will become more interested in linguistics and languages as a whole.
- I will start gardening and taking care of the house more.
- I get my eyebrows done.
- I rewatch Eraserhead 3 more times
- I start watching more TV in general, but it will mostly be animated shows.
- I borrow "Twenty Leagues under the Sea" from my college's library again and finish the book.
- I will finish reading 1984 by George Orwell
- I will start reading a new book, but I won't finish it because I'll be busy with college work and other hobbies
- I will find a new online community to grow closer to
- I will grow closer to some of my real life friends and see them more often despite my college work.

- I'll make the top four in the summer tournament this year, despite not practicing as seriously
- LaIcarusSharky will return to competitive play
- The top 8 (no order) will be: Frostfire, Eguy, Endy, Mazik, MBO, Connie, bobirika, SV

Games
- Persona 6 will be officially announced with a release window
- Slay the Spire 2 is alright, but not as special or fun as the first
- Deadlock releases into open beta, but not 1.0 this year. Will be my most played game of 2026
- Epic Battle Fantasy developer releases his new game and announces his next project will be EBF6
- Forza Horizon 6 will be delayed to 2027
- I'll write at least 5 articles on my blog

Other
- I'll get promoted this year after working my ass off
- Copilot will write more code than I will this year
- I will take on at least one new hobby
- I will improve at guitar and golf
- George Russell wins the 2026 WDC
- Max Verstappen moves to Mercedes
- I get engaged (for real this time)

 - After getting completely mauled by a box truck, a coyote’s mother will return to get revenge in the form of said box truck carnage (it will be full of vegetables), and I’ll just happen to witness it in all its glory.
 - That driver in Hong Kong that I mentioned in 2022 will make an official appearance, but this time, it will be in the form of a labubu.
 - While exploring a village somewhere east of Asunción, I’ll meet a fortune teller who will echo the same sentiments as a prophet from eras past, however leaving out key information about how to fix my car.
 - During a spiritual awakening at Dracula’s Castle (no mushrooms), I’ll receive a call about my car’s extended warranty, the caller of whom will turn out to be that guy I ditched in Medellín a couple years back.
 - Platinum Quest will be the title of an undertaking I will undertake assisting with the excavation of bountiful platinum reserves in South Africa only to smuggle a small portion to my friend in Cape Town.
 - While trekking along a yellow brick road somewhere in Kansas, I’ll come face to face with an old hag who will stomp on the graves of veterans, betwixt the sun and the rainbow, at which point I’ll politely leave the cult on mixed terms.
 - A sneaky salesman will spike my drink at a bar in West Hollywood, only to realize that his drink had already been spiked by the bartender I paid ahead of time, after which he will faint, forfeiting the sale.
 - I’ll successfully talk a scam caller into purchasing a subscription to a porn service and then begin speaking in a Russian Chat GPT voice to narrate the first thing that pops up on their screen.
 - Upon taking too many gummies, I’ll go to space and learn the truth about why Austin’s dad stopped inviting me over for grill-outs in the fourth grade.
 - Two parrots that I’ll encounter on a hiking trip in Appalachia will get into an argument about whether or not Katy Perry is still relevant.
 - A pelican and a Pelican case will finally meet, and the former will learn that the latter is much more adept at withstanding a hydraulic press.
 - I’ll discreetly compose a crossword puzzle out of various blank scrabble pieces at a coffee shop, order a mocha “for Down,” quietly leave, then watch as an unsuspecting patron puts the pieces together.
 - It will come as no surprise when my childhood bully ends up on the news after opening a doggy daycare, except that the doggies will actually be Webkinz plushies.
 - Perusing a vintage market, I’ll purchase a jar of marbles, which I will then use to roleplay Sprawl at a skatepark in Venice Beach before ultimately losing my marbles in more ways than one.
 - I’ll find three baseball bats, and of these, two will have been used as racks for drying pasta.
 - I’ll beat my friend’s wife’s sexy insurance broker at Rainbow Road.
 - I’ll eat a Durian fruit.

- I'll still be in Top 15 General Ranking
- Get to max achievements rating
- Despair WR
- Achieve new IL WR
- Pack 9 releases
- Achieve 153 mil rating
- Still hold PQ any% WR
- Run PQ 106 level and take thearst3rd's WR
- 5 new players take up PQ RTA
- Boost in game popularity
- 2 MB mods released
- Meet a Marble Blast community member (you never know)

Y2ROLL: 
- 100% filled out timesheet
- Start running arcade mode RTA
- All top ten on in-game leaderboards, if they don't get spammed with glitched times
- Y2ROLL showcase at a speedrun event (surely we get another marble marathon)

IRL Predictions:
- Relationship
- Move out (given, just over a week away)
- Same job, 4-5% salary increase
- Not reliant on takeouts meals when in new place
- Find new hobby to partake in
- No speeding tickets

Misc Predictions:
- Manchester United will end up qualifying for european football this season (currently 6th)
- New Zealand will win at least one match at the World Cup
- Italian side wins UEFA Champions League 2025-2026
- Meetup with more than one osu! friend
- Participate in at least 2 osu! tournaments
- Playthrough the definitive edition GTA's (3, Vice City, San Andreas), bought it for the switch
- Start streaming again, hopefully will stream RTA speedruns or playthroughs of other games

Time to do this for the third time ever.

- I will hold the most concurrent WRs on the leaderboards.
- I will have over 34 million Platinum rating.
- I will have over 30 Platinum WRs.
- My PB on Battlecube Finale will NOT be 12:22.493.
- I will get around to releasing yet another level compilation.
- Hopefully-not-so-bold claim: I'll release a level.

I literally have no idea what to expect this year, could be better or worse, we shall find out I guess

Balls
1. Singleplayer Gem Hunt WR count goes to 8 or lower
- The following prediction is why I think this will happen

2. I release the Break Luck files before April
- The people demand to know more, hopefully with no poorly censored black bars

3. Less than 40 total WRs by the end of the year
- Only natural with my activity as of late

4. Someone finds a way to beat my Ground Zero WR
- I refuse to believe that WR is unbeatable, and no if it does get beaten it will not be by 1ms

5. I do nothing for MBU WRR 3 and keep my two remaining WRs for the video
- m2gay might take one of them and in that case I will count this as wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if my two WRs stand since there has been no motivation from people to get some last minute WRs as of late, that'll probably change as the deadline gets closer but whatever

6. Keppy releases Smoothie in some capacity and I make my first level with it
- This is the only way I will ever make levels at this rate

7. Get WR on Treacherous Pits with the new route
- This will be the year it happens

8. I stop being a bitch and join the 2026 Summer Tourney and have fun, no matter the outcome
- Setting the bar extremely low for myself here given my circumstances, will probably regret not doing more to help out with map changes if it does happen given I was the one who spearheaded the move to focus more on MP rather than another LB Custom pack

9. I keep being a bitch and don't partake in any tourneys this year
- One of these predictions will be right

Not Balls
1. Finish Arcane
- Cmon Mazik just 80 minutes of your time how hard can that be

2. New Phone
- Definitely wanna get a new one this year, as I don't want to risk my current one dying of old age or breaking and having to rush to get a new one. Will most likely get an iPhone for once in my life just to see what it's like regularly using one

3. I finally stop being lazy and either get a new laptop or repair my current one
- W key isn't reliable for gaming as of 2 months ago, and I've had this laptop for 8 years. Definitely need to back up some important stuff first before I repair it

4. I meet a girl who has some interest in me and I somehow fumble her
- I did not cringe at all with this prediction last year and it was nice to look back on that aspect of my life even if they were not significant in the grander scheme of things

5. 100% Slay the Spire
- god damn it SV

6. Finish up a backlog of videos sent by my friend by the end of February while playing Holocure to keep myself entertained
- Another thing I put on the backburner late last year because of laziness and I feel a little bad not having those discussions with him about those videos sooner

7. There will be another Holocure update in the later half of 2026 (July - December)
- By that point it would have been 2 years without an update

8. Get a Midtown Madness 1 WR
- I downloaded this game again in the middle of the 2025 summer tourney as a way to distract myself from my mental episode, and I made decent progress on one race, but if I do get a WR it'll most likely be on a different race than the one I had uploaded a few times to my channel

9. I make use of my Budget Tracker google sheet consistently throughout the year and fully complete the general template by the end of January
- I started using one recently just because I thought it would be fun. It'll be cool to complete this later and analyze what I could be saving money on or what I can afford to buy at any given moment (Edit: I completed the general template on January 5th, just need to use it consistently)

10. I continue to have fantastic conversations with strangers on my Uber trips, but nothing will ever compare to the trip I had a few hours after the Ball Drop on New Years day
- That New Years trip was just something else man, easily the most fun I've had in recent memory, although sadly very controversial and politically charged so I can't exactly delve deep into the details

11. 100% Platypus Reclayed
- Childhood classic got a revamp recently and I wanna play it

Surprisingly more predictions for Non-Ball stuff than Ball stuff this year, we'll see if that changes as I think of more things to put here

  • I will become more active in the Marble Blast community and have at least 200 messages on the Marble Blast Discord.
  • I will make at least 1 PQ custom level and upload it to Marbleland.

I think if the Studio Display releases, I'll buy that first, because I would really love to not be slouching forward all the time on a laptop that I never take off the charger anyway. But I'd also love that Mac Studio... as long as it still has USB-A ports! Then I could use my current laptop at work instead. An iMac Pro would be so interesting, I'd love to see what they do to make it more substantial in terms of design. My brother is hoping for the M6 Pro MacBook Pro, since he wants to upgrade his base M1 version when a new design launches. I love reading your Apple predictions as always!
