Something definitely unique. Put some of your problem solving skills to the test in this level to complete a never seen before challenge.
Marble Blast Elite is a major mod to Marble Blast which so far has a demo release only. Development of Marble Blast Elite goes very slowly, and it appears to be slowly dying. Staff either join or leave for prolonged amounts of time. The demo version of Marble Blast Elite contains 26 levels.
Marble Blast Elite so far contains some exciting new features, including moving crates, marble resizing powerups, neat skybox scenery and some interesting new friction floors. These join familiar features of checkpoints, teleporters and easter eggs.
Reception to Marble Blast Elite’s demo has been average. Many liked the scenery and textures, as well as the new gameplay elements. Levels received mixed reactions, as people liked some of their challenges but were overall too hard for the categories they were placed; most people did not like the white trim texture.
Marble Blast Elite was going to release a newer demo build that addressed most of the community issues, but this did not occur. Since then the mod underwent through many changes to its structure, including changing many levels and the way it was going to be presented, but no word had been heard since.
G3orge’s MBG Mini Mod isn’t a mod per-se, as it does not contain any new features at all and it is completely based on Marble Blast Gold. This mini-mod contains 25 levels, some of which were donated by community members, and two soundtracks.
G3orge’s MBG Mini Mod was very well received by the community. The levels were praised for their creativity, high fun factor and a few for being original. The later Advanced levels are challenging and will require some thought in order to finish. It will take one roughly two hours to beat this mod, but it is still highly recommended for anyone.
Marble Blast Emerald was released on July 2011 and is the third major mod ever released to the community. During development Marble Blast Emerald had suffered numerous breaks and staff leaving and joining, and eventually ended up nearly never-finished.
Marble Blast Emerald features brand new game-modes including Tunnel Vision and No Jumping, and old favorites such as finding a hidden sapphire which can be found in many levels. Additionally it delivers to players a new pause menu which allows players to check for their best time, level description and even be able to change the options in-game among others.
Reception to Marble Blast Emerald was generally positive. Many liked its new features, scenery, level design and some of the sounds and music.
Most complaints were drawn to the user interface which was inconsistent in quality or felt clamped. Additionally the anti-cheat system often prevented players from recording videos properly (even by recording demos with the console), and also disallowed players to record new times just because the level editor was opened once (you had to exit the game completely). Other irks were the scenery (you could skip large parts of levels using those) and that the mod could be beaten too quickly.
Support was planned for Marble Blast Emerald but eventually was dropped due to a number of reasons: the developers were rushing towards Marble Blast Emerald 2 (which died very early in development) and others could no longer be bothered trying and fix it. Lack of innovative features and almost no custom levels from the community had therefore led to this mod be forgotten about.
However there are a number of videos that people have created, including personal rampages which aim to complete many of the levels in record time, or videos that show levels being beaten without jumping where the authors have stated they could not be.
An alternative 7z download. Requires 7-Zip to open, or any other zipping programs that recognises 7z.
There is little known about Marble Blast Space as it never received public attention. It contains 14 playable levels (one of them is in custom), new graphics and skyboxes. New sounds are available but they appear to be sped up/slowed down versions from somewhere else (Gold or Platinum). Although it does have some of its user interface changed, it’s still largely based on Marble Blast Gold.
There is nothing known about the reception to Marble Blast Space, so we took it to a test run. Although there is nothing special about this mod, we really liked the gravity level’s skies. If you wish to download, you’ll beat it under 10 minutes... but it does look good!
Known bugs and problems:
The mod comes with its own prefs.cs file. Do delete it so you’ll start from scratch and without user-times.
