Some cool new beans from the workshop... I tried my hand at fixing up the specular reflections and came up with this:

Here is my attempt at the same effect:


I think I got pretty close, and it makes a world of difference to the aesthetic in game.

The key components were increasing the resolution of the normal map as well as it's strength, to give each tile a slight concavity.

I've done this for all of the tile textures in the game, so everything should look much nicer now

Here are a couple more shots:








In a slightly separate addition, the lowest quality setting is now MUCH lower than before, so even people running on potatoes should be able to get decent frame-rates .
