Hello.

Unfortunately, I've run into some serious problems with the very last level (Battlecube Finale). I was told it shouldn't be too hard, but I have to say I was told wrongly. I haven't been able to get more than 7/12 of the way through the level, largely thanks to that tarmac surface with those isolated stepping stones. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? I've been trying to use a larger-than-normal marble, because I feel that that gives me more control, but is that simply an illusion? Am I perhaps rushing too much in hopes of beating the 15-minute par time? What am I doing wrong?

If there's a bug, YO! I'll report it!

Diagonal movement and careful jumping is key here. Make sure you know not only how to diagonal forwards towards the gems, but slow down asap (jumping helps a lot). Practice that face as well as the other sides first before attempting further.

You should also get some sort of a standard path for at least some of the beginning faces, and of course collect as many time travels as possible. You don't need lots of diagonal for the tarmac and its opposite side but you do need to couple it with jumping to get the speed necessary without wasting a lot of time.

There are several videos of the level so this can help out.

Yeah, don't let people who say it's easy mislead you. It's easy for some people but in reality it's right up there behind TToTs and Mastering the Marble. The tarmac is hard, you need excellent spin control, and PQ forbid you miss one gem on a surface and you have to look for it for thirty minutes...wait, you don't have thirty minutes. You have fifteen. So yeah, excellent gem finding presicion is required. And getting every single gem, not jumping around and looking for random gems, and finishing in fifteen minutes is not a feasible task for many people. Especially on a widespread level like that.

Start with the tarmac/its backside and ice sides first. They're opposite each other and you can continue the other if you fall off. After that just CP regularly and abuse PowerUps. It took me quite a few tries, but once you can nail those parts you're pretty much done. The rest of the level is just a really big intermediate level, and the time limit is long enough to not matter.

This signature is real code
Code:
function clientcmd12dothepq() { commandToClient(LocalClientConnection, '34onthedancefloor'); }

Thanks for the tip. I'll start a new topic when I complete the level, and thus the game.

Another tip: For your first finish u may want to simply beat the level, and forget the par time. Use checkpoints LOADS.

Then later on you can go for the par time.
