How do velocities add in marbleblast?

If I'm running at x speed on a platform going at y speed, what is my resulting speed? what is the equation?

I have an idea for a mod, but I need to know this.

I know it's a stupid question with the answer probably being a resounding "yes", but I need to know if it works any differently.
