I personally prefer Windows XP more than Windows 7, because is more stable, faster, use less memory and doesn't have these compatibility issues.

I using Windows 7 because the interface have better looking and the easy installation of it.

It's actually less stable and does have compatibility issues with some newer software. That said I loved Windows XP for 6 years, but Windows 7 was really a big step up. Windows 8(which I have on my laptop) is ok, but it bring a bunch of annoyances.

I never knew Windows 7 was more stable and compatible, maybe because I suck in computer stuff

Talking about Windows 8, I tried it in a friend's laptop, the biggest things I noticed were the simple interface, the animations of the windows (some looks like Macintosh) and the improved touch controls (which are awesome), also the less start icon in your toolboar.

@Trace: what kind of annoyances?

The weirdest signature that I ever requested

No start menu, UAC is more of a pain and I have to run more things as admin to get them to work properly. Boot up time is much faster, but removal of window transparency is annoying (I liked Aero)
