It's the heaviest of hearts to say to you that, Satoru Iwata, who is a major Nintendo Executive, and the one who built games that we loved since our childhood, has passed away. He passed away on July 11, 2015 due to a bile duct growth. He led Nintendo during the launch of the DS, the 3DS, the Wii and the Wii U. He worked first as a programmer to help create the much-loved Kirby games. He also coded Earthbound singlehandedly and he remained a virtuoso programmer. Let us pay respects to him, because if he wasn't there in the first place, Our childhood will never be the same.
This is from Zypher, a person also cares for him because I love all of Nintendo games.

He'll miss to all of us, and you know that.

You forget a thousand things everyday. Make sure Marble Blast isn't one of 'em.

Even though I don't know who he really is, I can tell that this guy you're talking about contributed so much to the virtual world we have today. Our saddest condolences to Satoru and his friends and family. We will miss him, but we hope he is in a better place now.

R.I.P Satoru Iwata you will be missed by many.

I am a programmer. Most here know me for being one of the major contributors to Marble Blast Platinum and PlatinumQuest.

The sad thing for me is that this happened the day before our family's dog was euthanized due to terminal illness. Here's hoping Nintendo finds a suitable replacement, and thoughts and prayers go out to Iwata's family.

If there's a bug, YO! I'll report it!

I suggest that this should be stickied because this is such a dramatic event for all of us and a topic to pay respects for Satoru Iwata. I do pay respects for him.

This was not something I could take lightly. The past few days have been somber for Nintendo fans.

So many of my childhood memories can be traced back to this man. It really bites to think that we'll no longer see him give presentations "directly" to us, or stare intently into a banana. He was such a character to the point where I considered him a friend even more than an idol.

To those who aren't familiar with his work: He was a programming prodigy who could outdo the developers of their own games. During his time as CEO, he brought Nintendo into one of their most profitable periods of all time. And when sales fell short in 2014, he cut his own salary in half to ensure that nobody would lose their job.

Rest in peace, Iwata-san. We understand.

Didn't meant to make the post offensive in any way, sorry to anyone who might felt offended by that. If course it's always sad when great person passes away, especially when it's heavily related to childhood.

Hey RDs, just to clarify - my post wasn't a response to yours, and I wasn't offended. If anything, I think that picture you posted showed the meme-ness of his character. I thought it was pretty funny. Sorry if my comments came off the wrong way; I was merely expressing my feelings for Iwata. :)
