The level loads in PQ, the moving platforms don't.

Many people prefer to use PlatinumQuest rather than original Marble Blast Gold for several reasons (Gold levels built-in and Marbleland support). I think you should atleast try to fix it instead of giving all PQ players a "fuck off", because PQ is pretty much what everyone plays nowadays.

I understand that too, just like the original Marble Blast Platinum before PlatinumQuest has Marble Blast Gold support, but my point is if the platforms load in exact detail, fully intact, in the original Marble Blast Gold there is no real logical reason it shouldn't load in PlatinumQuest as well, and anything that makes it work in the original but not the PlatinumQuest mod sounds like a bug on the PlatinumQuest developers' side (it's a silly idea for a game developer to not have backwards compatibility with older versions of the engine if the features are exactly the same, which is the case here).

I still stand by all my levels are intentionally just remixing MBG levels with no levels made from the ground up however, and those looking for me to make my own levels entirely from the ground up are probably just not the right audience (IE: it's mostly for people who have never played Marble Blast Gold before, let alone the more difficult Platinum and PlatinumQuest).

On that note, levels 61 thru 120 will have a purple sky and purple gems, levels 121 thru 180 will have a red sky and red gems, and levels 181 thru 210 will have a green sky and green gems (to make it obvious each theme is different, one for beginners, one for intermediate players, one for advanced players, and one for the experts of experts who have truly mastered the mechanics of Marble Blast Gold.)

To elaborate more on this specific instance:

If Marble Blast Gold comes with PlatinumQuest by default the way it does with vanilla Platinum by default, then the level I used the platforms from should already be there and working exactly the same as the original Marble Blast Gold version (Beginner level 22, Platform Party), as that was how it was in Marble Blast Platinum.

Because I didn't change any of the platforms or the markers they move between, it should be 100% reasonable they should behave the same regardless of what else I change, the same way a start pad behaves the same regardless of what else exists in the level.

Yeah this looks like a PlatinumQuest bug that arose recently. This will be mitigated in the future versions.

Hi JPF,
As a middle-ground between not deleting levels off of Marbleland (which is trying to be avoided) but still recognizing levels that are identical to ones that already exist, I'm going to be attributing the original creators and levels in the metadata of the levels you've uploaded that are near-duplicates or exact replicas ( here is an example). I'm a little bit concerned over the risk of confusion being caused by these copies existing on Marbleland, and acknowledging where those levels come from also gives some context to your intention with this whole project in reimagining Marble Blast Gold.

Your Timing is Key not loading in PlatinumQuest, though annoying, doesn't stop it from loading properly in the version I used to make it, the original Marble Blast Gold from before Marble Blast Platinum was a figment in someone's imagination, and so I encourage you to use that version as it is the intended version to play my campaign with.

I mean this with all due respect, but you should also consider the audience that you're posting these levels for. I am basically certain that anyone who will play Marble Blast for their first time will either play the original Marble Blast Gold, OpenMBU, or PlatinumQuest. The path to navigate to reach this 210-level project is far too convoluted for a newcomer, whether that is downloading the levels off of the website, playing them on the Web or Haxe ports, or playing them through the in-game Marbleland feature. The latter is, importantly, where the majority of the userbase is right now.

I get that too, most 100% newcomers won't download custom levels but start with the default levels given, but it's not exactly rocket science to download the games off the website, especially because I put them all in a neat pack that garauntees they will go in a very specific order as intended, and I don't understand how it's any different than downloading a ZIP file from any other website or similar package.

And besides, if someone played Marble Blast Gold's default levels already then if the project explicitly says it's re-telling Marble Blast Gold they should expect the same type of difficulty progression (if not better in my opinion, as some beginner levels and intermediate levels had sudden difficulty differences between each other for where they were at, like level 7 which is trivial and is basically impossible to get killed to level 8 which requires air movement techniques or else you die immediately.)

Now I have all 60 beginner levels uploaded, and remember levels 1 thru 30 are meant to be tutorials for no Marble Blasting experience, while levels 31 thru 60 are meant to be more challenging but nothing really complicated yet, just like how the original beginner levels went.

Are you sure you have an idea for all 210 of your levels? Just a thought.

Yes, the number of levels has already been addressed; I don't know every single detail of every single level, but it is intentional that all of them are remixes of Marble Blast Gold levels with only small changes from the original, and sometimes remixes of earlier levels I made (like level 53 is just a harder version of level 32, for example, but this is valid because in the original Marble Blast Gold,  Intermediate level 23 was nothing more than a harder version of Intermediate level 2 with the only change being the pit stop, more gems and powerups, and different gold times and qualify times, or also Beginner level 18 was nothing more than a harder Beginner 16, or also Advanced 19 was nothing more than a harder Advanced 9, and so on).

So... you don't have ideas for all your levels?

You should come up with an idea for what every one of your level should be, and then make them.

I mean it would be silly to go in without general ideas, which I do have for all the levels, just not every single detail planned out painstakingly (like the locations of the objects and the exact interior names used and all that; those details will be improvised, but I have the name and theme for every level written down for me to remember).

And now, with the mindset that my pack is supposed to be remixing/re-telling Marble Blast Gold using Marble Blast Gold default interiors and not custom interiors (as a kind of way to challenge myself to a limited pallete), does anyone have any comments if the levels are appropriate for beginners or not, or if I put some levels in the wrong order in your guys' opinion, or anything else I missed (again, the fact it's just re-mixing Marble Blast Gold levels is 100% intended, but anything else like glitches you find I will fix).

Why are you challenging yourself? If you want to "re-tell" Marble Blast Gold, why not go all the way?

If you absolutely cannot make a custom interior and use default interiors, you should try to create interesting new levels instead of just taking a Gold level and adding a gem or two.

I have played most of the levels you have uploaded, and if I am going to be honest with you, they aren't that interesting and fun and I generally found them boring. I'm not trying to discourage you, but you should definitely come up with cool ideas for new types of levels.

I am not offended at all because I know this type of stuff isn't for everyone, but even the levels where all I do is remove a gem or two I feel I did it in a way that it plays differently enough compared to the original level.

I know it's subjective though and some people like you feel that it's not different enough, and that's okay with me too because I know a lot of people prefer me to make my own levels from the ground up rather than remixing existing levels, and not just you specifically, even though I made it clear from the get-go this is all just remixing existing Marble Blast levels because I feel personally the remixes are different enough from how the original level plays out.

I keep the uploaded pack on the site though so everyone can see it, those who like it and those who dislike it.
