Marble Blast Fubar
Coming Soon!
Unfortunately, This is not the post everyone is waiting for. Marble Blast Fubar is still in its development stage, and will not be completed for quite some time. Our development team is working around the clock to complete the content of the game as quickly and professionally as we can, and we hope to release the game before the end of the year. With that being said, it is now time to unveil new information regarding Marble Blast Fubar.
First and foremost, many of you were aware of our previous BETA website, hosted for free on GooglePages.com. In November of 2009, Google announced that they were discontinuing GooglePages in an effort to promote their new 'template' website service, GoogleWebs. Since then, the Marble Blast Fubar website had ceased to exist.
In the previous four months, I have been working on finding a suitable host for the Marble Blast Fubar website, and found my options limited to purchasing a domain of my own. Finding my options very limited, I began to bump around, asking friends and co-workers where I could find the best deals on a domain. To my luck, my friend Simon had purchased a domain to use as an E-Mail database, which also included a 1000 GB web server – which he was not using! After a couple hours of discussion amongst our development team and Simon, we decided that forming a partnership between BEGCC and DedalusTech.com was the best viable option for our expansion of popularity in the coming future. As of May 4th, 2010, BEGCC and DedalusTech.com have been combined into one joint force, and with it, Marble Blast Fubar.
However, I am positive you are here to read information about Marble Blast Fubar. Our web developers (myself included) are currently working on a brand new website for Marble Blast Fubar, which is dramatically different from the previous layout. We expect this new website to be launched within a couple days in an alpha format. Over the course of the next month, you will watch as we update and finalize the look, feel, and performance of the website.
Our current plans are to create a user-friendly website which is both pleasing to the eye, and extremely interactive, allowing the user the ability to explore the game's features, keep daily records of our development progress, as well as access key files related to their own copy of the game from any remote point that has internet access.
Here are a couple of features we plan to integrate into our website;
A Universal Account – The universal account is created when a user registers on the Marble Blast Fubar website. The account will be used to upload and track your progress through Marble Blast Fubar, as well as other future game released produced by BEGCC & DedalusTech.com. This account will also grant you access to the DedalusTech.com forums, as well as access to the online Profile system (explained below).
An Interactive Game Guide – The interactive game guide allows new users to the Marble Blast Gold franchise a 'quick-reference' page for all of their Marble Blast needs. Using 3D models and images, the interactive guide will grant users the ability to explore different game mechanics. One such example of a page in the interactive guide will be a screenshot of the Marble Blast Fubar In-Game UI. The guide will highlight and explain (through voice-recordings) what the purpose of each element in the UI is, how it functions, and then provide examples that you may interact with.
Enhanced Media Page – The new media page will be two-fold; One section will include all of the media elements, and the other will include the feedback. Those of you who are familiar with YouTube should find the Media Page to be fairly similar in layout. Videos, Screenshots, and Concept Art will be displayed in mini 5 x 5 frames, with several pages that you may rotate through to find a specific video or screenshot. From there, you can click on a screenshot, video, or concept art that will then open in a new window in full-size, and then provide a comments section below. Here, users can interact with one another (so long as they are logged into their Profile) about the screenshot, video, or concept art.
Profile System – With the new DedalusTech.com integration, we have been able to expand our base of coding. This includes the usage of MySQL databases, which is the basis of the Profile System. The Profile System is essentially the key to interacting with the Marble Blast Fubar website. Once you have created a unique profile, you may begin interacting with other users on the website through the use of the forums, the forums inbox-mailing system, Comments / Response sections in the Media pages, and through the Leaderboards.
A Brand New Leaderboards System – While similar to the ever-popular Marble Blast Platinum Leaderboards, the Marble Blast Fubar leaderboards will provide more competitive gameplay, and more interactive capabilities. The Marble Blast Fubar Leaderboards will display users based on a ranking system using a generated 'score'. This score is determined by the user's Statistics, which includes their Levels completed and achievements earned. Upon locating a desired user, you may then click on their name to visit their profile page. This page will display a customizable banner and description (set by the user themselves), and then an interactive Achievement and Statistic panel (similar to the one you will see in-game).
If you haven't figured this out already, our key focus is currently the ability to interact with the website. We feel that the new Marble Blast Fubar website should make you feel closer to the developers and the community than the previous website.
So, now that you know about all of the cool new website features, It's time to answer the most important questions.
When will Marble Blast Fubar be released?
> Although no date has been set in stone, we have planned the full release of Marble Blast Fubar to be sometime in late Fall / Early Winter of 2010.
What about a Demo?
> A Demo for Marble Blast Fubar should be available at least two (2) months prior to the release of the full game.
So what progress has been made in the past few months?
> Although nothing has been publicly announced or displayed until this week, I assure you there has been a lot of work on the game itself in the previous months. Currently, we plan to keep a daily news blog on the new Marble Blast Fubar website when it goes live sometime this week that will keep users more up-to-date in realtime with the progress of the game.
As stated above, the basic premise of the Marble Blast Fubar is expected to release this weekend, if not sometime during the next couple of days. You can visit the website at
www.dedalustech.com/MarbleBlastFubar
, or click on the image at the top of this post.
Once the website is Live, I will provide a link to our website's forums, where you can leave questions, comments, concerns, feedback, and interact with other users about Marble Blast Fubar, BEGCC, or DedalusTech.com.
You will also be able to keep up-to-date with the Marble Blast Fubar game through the new website when the daily news blog is completed. Make sure you bookmark that link, for I feel it will become your new source of Marble Blast Fubar news.
This concludes my “Large Announcement” on this May 14th, 2010. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns that you would like voiced, you may reply directly to this post. Any questions I will do my best to answer without giving too many spoilers away.
Thank you for your keen interest in Marble Blast Fubar. I promise you that all of the delays in its release are entirely worth it, and you will absolutely love this addition to the Marble Blast Gold community. Great things require great amounts of time, and I greatly appreciate the community's patience as we find more bugs to fix and more features to introduce into the game.
