The MOTD button no longer functions as the servers it tries to connect to don't exist anymore.

Marbleland downloads zip files containing all the dependencies of the level including the mis files in a proper hierarchy which you can easily merge with the game.
Do check out PlatinumQuest though at some point since it provides an integrated browser for Marbleland, allowing you to download and play levels within the game itself.

Also, does Marbleland download .mis files or another file type? Because I want to play this level called "Editor's Demise" and other levels in MBG, but still unsure if it actually downloads .mis files. I remember me using Google Chrome, i wanted to download what i think was a modified version of A-maze-ing and Chrome said the file wasn't safe. But i don't remember the file extension from that time, and i've already installed firefox on my PC.

Ok, got the game workin', makin' scores, all I want to know now is, How do you enable the MOTD (Message of the Day) button in-game? Do you need to mod some code or is there a hidden option for it?

Re: TheVeryMBseriesFan12488

I suspect the game isn't closing properly.
I suggest installing the game elsewhere outside of Program Files or the C drive, put it in a different drive if you have one. Otherwise install it in the Documents folder. There you put the prefs file directly in marble/client/prefs.cs

Hope this works for you.

and idk why
i looked in the console.log and it looks fine until this part:

and then there's nothing else in there

Thanks! It works, but it has its flaws. Only two actually. So, the game works, but whenever I restart my computer (or shutdown Windows and start it back up later) Windows turns both prefs.cs and prefs.cs.dso file into NUL bytes. Then I have to delete both files and recreate the prefs.cs for the game to work again. Every. Single. Shutdown. Or. Restart.
Secondly, when I restart, recreate the files, the game forgets my progress.

Any way to fix both issues?

In that case, here is the prefs.cs that you can put in the path instead.

Hello, there is no prefs.cs in AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files (x86)/Marble Blast Gold/marble/client/
Not even in C:/Program Files (x86)/Marble Blast Gold/marble/client/
How can I fix this?
Here's 2 screenshots:

This thread sums up your problem: marbleblast.com/index.php/forum/mb-suppo...ashes-under-direct3d

The way you fix it is by changing the graphics driver of the game to OpenGL by editing it's prefs.cs file.
If you installed it on C drive/Program files/default installation directory, this file is located at:
C:\Users\<Your User>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Marble Blast Gold\marble\client\prefs.cs
If you installed it elsewhere: path\to\the\game\marble\client\prefs.cs

Now once you have found this file, open it in any text editor such as Notepad and search for the text
"$pref::Video::displayDevice", and change the text after "=" to "OpenGL". Once you have done this, you can run the game again.

Hello. When I open up the Marble Blast Gold shortcut on my desktop, the game opens, on a gray screen, then crashes. It's not running on the background or something, how do I fix this?

Ah, I see the problem.
You need a bit of patience to run the game. Since you are using integrated graphics, the only graphics driver available to run the game is DirectX, and it is known that the game takes quite a while to set up all the graphics state for that particular driver at the beginning when you launch the game. Give it atleast a minute or two to start.

Hm, did your console.log get uploaded properly? It looks blank to me, unless it is blank, which might be an indication of the issue (though I'm not exactly sure what that would be)

Hello,

Those specs should be fine for playing PQ - can you send us the file "console.log" in the PlatinumQuest installation directory? That might help us figure out the issue, particularly if it has issues finding a graphics device.

As for the Marble Blast Gold installer for windows, yes that zip file is safe. Feel free to scan it with an antivirus if you want to be cautious.

Hello fellow Marble Blasters! I have actually only one issue and one question.
Starting off with the issue, when i downloaded the PlatinumQuest Launcher, let it sit on downloading files until it finished, it opened the game. On a black screen. And the moment I focused the window, it stops responding. Not even executing it from the EXE file worked!
It was on the latest version, 2.11.1.
Any way to fix this?
For anybody wondering, I have a Samsung laptop/netbook. Here are the specs of it
Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7
RAM: 8 GB
System type: x64
System OS: Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (build 26100.4061 i'm pretty sure)
Stylus/Touch screen support: None
Next up the question. I'll say, this is kinda stupid. (Moderators will probably consider it too)
But anyway, question is, Is the Marble Blast Gold installer ZIP file on this website for Windows safe-
There, i said it.
I also remember someone on an old YouTube video commented that it changed the desktop angle on their computer. I think they meant resolution.
Ok, thanks, bye!!
