Hi there,

If you have the old copy (or any old files from the previous install) of your Marble Blast Gold client, I would appreciate it if you attached (or copy/pasted) the contents of your Console.log file so that we may be able to determine what caused it to crash in the previous install.

You can find the console.log file in your root Marble Blast Gold Directory (i.e. C:\Program File (x86)\Marble Blast Gold\console.log)

Another two tricks with Windows 7+ machines and Marble Blast Gold;

- Make sure you run the program as Administrator (Right click -> Run as Administrator). You can permenantly set this to always run with admin rights by right clicking the marbleblast.exe file in your root directory and checking the 'run as Administrator' box.

- If the program still has difficulty running, see if you can run the program with compatability mode set to either Windows 2000 or Windows XP. You can toggle compatability mode by right clicking on the marbleblast.exe in your root directory and checking the 'Compatability Mode' box, and then selecting either Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

If you do not have the old install, and do not have the old console.log, please let me know so that I may close this thread.

Thanks,
~Aayrl

Sounds like an ignition error.

If you are using the garagegames version, go to marble/client/ui/
and see if you have ignitionStatusGui.gui.dso and ignitionGui.gui.dso.

if you are using any other version, go to marble/client/scripts/
and see if there is a demo.cs.dso in there.

Try that, if those are not then you must copy those files or re-install marble blast.

If you are using the non-GarageGames version and even with demo.cs.dso and it still does not work, then check for marble/client/ui
ignitionStatusGui.gui.dso. If you have that place that in there and reload marbleblast.

If you do not have any of those 3 files, that is:
demo.cs.dso
ignitionStatusGui.gui.dso
ignitionGui.gui.dso

Then we can not help you as those are core files that come with the download.

Also do try what Aayrl said about the run as administrator. That would always be a good thing.

I am a programmer. Most here know me for being one of the major contributors to Marble Blast Platinum and PlatinumQuest.

..or just delete the original post.

Summary of thread:

User running Windows 8 had issue with the game (Marble Blast Gold) constantly crashing every time a level loaded. User fixed said issue by reinstalling the game. If this does not fix your problem, or you do not wish to reinstall the game, ensure you have the correct ignition files (as suggested by Jeff), and then try my two suggestions in the above post.

Locking Thread, as the issue is Resolved.
