Toothy / Gem Hunt

Hi.

This is a collection of videos of me on the multiplayer levels, whether it's trying to get higher scores in solo mode or interesting matches against other people (theturk1234, jacob64931, etc.). Right now I don't have any footage of other players so for now I'm just trying to get the ultimate score on as many levels as possible, mostly in order. I plan on recording a lot, though, and hopefully I can build a decent showcase.

King of the Marble (level 1): 157

Such a basic level. I remember people battling for literally being king of the marble instead of actually collecting gems in 2009, on the days of XBox LIVE and InstantAction. This level is really small and basic... so in a way, gameplay is a bit one dimensional and I have almost no use for powerups. Still, though, getting the ultimate score (155+) is quite hard. I only got this after 20 or so attempts. What knaws at me a bit on this video is I have a chance to get 158 at 3:14 but just barely miss it, thus it's not a highscore. The attempt I got 157 for the first time on... I wasn't recording. X_X; But hey, at least it's feasible evidence I got 157. On Matthieu's PC port of Marble Blast Ultra though, I got 179. This mostly has to do with luckier double gem spawns (I'm pretty sure PlatinumQuest uses a different system that reduces duplicates) and the ball size being bigger (I never understood why the ball is smaller on the MBU multiplayer levels). Maybe I can follow up with 160+ in a bit.

This score places me on 49th place on the leaderboards. That may seem kind of pathetic, I know. But, consider how many of the scores above mine are 300, reaching up to a ridiculous 500. I'm pretty sure a large majority of scores above mine only exist because of Labor Day madness (it doesn't separate versus and solo scores anymore). I don't think even 225 is possible in single player. On hPerk's Gem Hunt WR sheet from March 2017 , the highest score is 189 by RC. So if I had to guess, Regislian's score of 192 in 26th place seems like the real WR, and subtracting the 25 places above would place me at 24th place or so.
