Old Custom Level Speedruns: Volume VIII

Wait a minute, you're probably thinking. Didn't this series end two months ago with Volume VII?

Yes, the series was originally supposed to end with the seventh video. But over time I found more levels that I was able to speedrun. So I decided to record these levels and compile them into one video, and add this video to my Old Custom Level Speedruns series. =) As usual, I give full credits to the level and pathway creators.

Song used:
Someone Else Calling You Baby - Luke Bryan

Enjoy! =)

Shortcuts (14.85) + Scaffold Revisited (1.48)

Two speedruns of two fairly recent custom levels. Shortcuts was created by Pokko, and Scaffold Revisited was created by FruBlox. I can't remember who created the pathways for each level.

Not much to say about Shortcuts - the path is pretty straightforward, and not that hard to pull off. SR was a pain in the neck to record, though; it took me well over 500 attempts to get a good run. The gap that I jump through after the first TT is hard to get just right, and I kept missing the finish.

How I Got to Be This Way - Justin Moore

MBA Compilation: Volume II

More speedruns of Marble Blast Advanced levels. The initial excitement for MBA may have passed, but I still play it every so often. I found five more levels that I was able to beat the Advanced Time on, so I recorded them and compiled them together. Some of these runs aren't my best, but I was too lazy to try and improve them.

Amazing job on Transcedence!
Would be pretty neat if you could do a speedrun on your latest level, A Day at the Links...

Going Up? (54.64) + The Suicide Slide (1:24.27)

This video shows two ancient custom levels that I deemed too long to be included in the regular Old Custom Level Speedruns series. Going Up was created by Marbleman, and The Suicide Slide was created by Jayar. Both runs can probably be improved - Going Up could use some better skillshotting, while Suicide Slide could save several seconds by better timing the double Super Jumps.

And I just played through a bunch of the originals too today. They're so big! (and hard!) (and fun!)

The Art of Moving Platforms

After two weeks of silence, I have returned with a new video! Apologies for the lack of videos; college work has been keeping me pretty busy lately. Videos will most likely continue to be sparse until the end of the semester. =(

The Art of Moving Platforms is a level pack that was created by Technostick, and was released in two installments in 2007. The levels were groundbreaking, and were entirely written in the .mis code (i.e. Technostick never opened the level editor to make them). They were well-received enough in the Marble Blast community to win the Level of the Year award for 2007.

Eleven levels were created for the pack; eight of them are shown in this video. No World Records shown here, but all levels have been beaten under the gold time. I was not able to beat the gold time for the other three levels, so it is unlikely that there will be a video showing those.

Song used:
Hell Yeah - Montgomery Gentry

Enjoy! =)

Downhill Lightning (2.08)

Here's a quick speedrun of Downhill Lightning, a custom level by Phil made a couple of years ago. Best first TM catch is 1.97, but 2.06 - 2.09 is my average. More videos will be coming in a couple weeks when I go on my winter break. Enjoy! =)
