Who knows, Maybe I'm just the goofy one here.

This was taken from the mbsuper.proboards.com in their shoutbox. If they delete it, well this is here now and it was.

I don't know how many times this has been said over and over again, but its starting to irritate me. You know, as a community, when we are getting older, at least I expected things to get a better understanding on things.

Guys, this is so simple. The game is illegal to have if its the PC standalone version. I know people don't care, but don't say that I'm retarded when I'm trying to help make you guys aware that it is illegal, please.

Seriously, guys its illegal to have, its been answered many times, and this question shouldn't even be happening anymore.

Wait for MBP 1.50 which is complete awesomeness and even better than ultra IMO anyways. Its better and we have professional staff working on it to ensure a fun game is made for you guys.

Thanks

If I may, personally I think this is hilarious to still see people not get it. I think I'm a little more entertained than mad here. But that's just me.

I don't want to be a total noob right now, but how did you obtain the PC version of MBU? Did you have to purchase it on the XBLA Marketplace and then like get a code to use at garageGames.com?

...........................................

How can you get it from garagegames.com if it is illegal.

I don't have it, I don't know how they got it, and I don't want to see others keep breaking the law.

I meant back then when you could get it. Also, I asked because I thought you had it.

Oh. Makes much more sense. How come it *illegally* exists for the PC then?

Apparently a lot. I didn't know that until a few hours ago, though. I just knew it was illegal to distribute.

LCF, for the last time, MBU was created on the PC.

Ir it was never to be intended to be sold for the PC. It was created for the xbox360. To make it for the 360, all the scripts and engine were wrapped up in a nice zipped package and that was shipped on the xbox 360 live arcade.

When MBU died, some of its community members decided to take the file (.apk ? whatever) and reverse engineer it, which resulted in finding all the files necessary to run it. Since GG never bothered to put all files in dso like they did with other games, they had all .cs/gui files and therefore they modified it to work on the PC.

What you're playing with all the time is an illegal game and is condemned by this entire community and by distributing it you're breaking many U.S. federal laws. If you think you're not, then perhaps you should check your own wiki.

Lets not forget that even though its US laws, a lot of copyright laws are world wide. So living in a different country does not mean you get a free pass. (to my knowledge)

I didn't know it originally made on the PC. I have the full version on my Xbox 360, and since when have I distributed it? Other than maybe linking to it a few times (before I even knew it was illegal to, I have a Mac anyways, so downloading wouldn't do me much good), I've never distributed it nor do I plan to.
As for this:

I don't know what you mean by that, playing on the 360 isn't illegal, because I purchased it legit.

He means that the MBU PC standalone version is illegal. Owning MBU on the Xbox 360 is entirely legal.

Well, now we know who the hell made most popular build of PC MBU. -.-

Watch this video...
var pb_ad_url = ads.proboards.com/ad.pl?as=300x250&ap=BT...15&cb=+Math.random() ; document.write('');

The creator's mbsuper.proboards.com/user/8
(I couldn't remember the link to their account on these forums).

I know. But still, I decided to link because he's one of the MBSuper staff. I'm starting to suspect foul play with some of those guys. After all, a video's always better. Why don't some these guys ever understand that what they're doing could ruin their life?

Personally I could care less. So what, it's illegal.

But these people deny that. They have the misinformed idea that just because the company went under their properties are freed to the public. Which wouldn't be true even if IAC didn't now own MB. But IA does own MB, and they certainly haven't given permission. SO it's illegal. Which is fine as far as I am concerned, just don't live in denial.

Exactly, there are always people who break the law and don't want to follow rules. Which is what we have law enforcement for, right? That is what saddens me the most though, exactly what you said. Denial. :C

My reply:

Please read through this; I'm neutral in this situation.
I don't feel like arguing about this, and I believe it is. However, you still are partially correct. Here's a quote from Don.Gato: But IA does own MB, and they certainly haven't given permission. SO it's illegal. I'm with him. However, IAC never said you couldn't do it, so my belief is that it's illegal, however there isn't any proof that it is illegal.

Yes, I am partially neutral. However, I wouldn't try downloading it at all because of the risk. Anyways... my speech would have been much longer but I only had 9 characters left.
The way I stated that was very confusing...

IAC told people in the past it was illegal. One of the youtuber peoples with online videos had a warning about IAC warning them.

Also why is this still being discussed, its illegal, period. Why do I have to keep explaining this. >_>

nonononono.

IAC is not the law. IAC can give permission, making it not illegal, but if they say nothing on the matter then it is piracy. There is no proof needed. Unless IAC explicitly gives permission, it is illegal.

That's why I stopped working for MBSuper. They steal stuff from others and they dare to call Jeff the Magnificent Coder a retarded guy. Nonsense...

You forget a thousand things everyday. Make sure Marble Blast isn't one of 'em.
