Ah, 2018. What a year! Some new mods got released, many speedrunners got to show their stuff in MBP WRR3, and level creators around the globe had created more than 130 custom levels! 2018 will sure be a year to remember. But that begs the question. Which custom level made this year was the best? It's time to pick up on an old tradition and vote on which level is the Level of the Year!
Right now we are voting for our nominees. That means that after this voting session, there will be another round to vote between the top five levels of this round.
Before you submit your vote, please play the levels in the selection. Attempt to avoid bias and choose levels you think are genuinely fun to play. Most importantly, please identify who you are in the form. This is to prevent double votes, trolls, etc.
Don't see a specific level in the list? It may be from one of the following reasons.
We don't accept meme levels. They're good for a quick laugh or two, however the quality of professionalism from actual levels is quite low. For this reason, we decided to remove all meme levels from the selection (also so we can have a shorter, easier list to read). This includes some absolutely legendary levels such as Black Diamond (Abridged), Blue Zenith V2, and, unfortunately, super duper duper there and back again. Perhaps we'll have one day where we celebrate all meme levels but that won't be today.
Custom levels made by, as well as votes from, banned users are automatically rejected from the selection. It's simple. This is a community vote. You're not part of the community, you or your levels are not part of the vote. From the top of my head, the only person who has made levels in 2018 and falls under this category is probably PowerJohn, so, if he's reading this uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh maybe don't get banned...?
Or, it could just be that I have missed it. Yeah, despite the forum's accessibility, it's rather difficult to track the locations of some custom levels. Hopefully, HiGuy's CLA site will fix that once it give us the ability to submit our own custom levels. So if you see a custom level that has been made in 2018 but isn't on this list, please let me know.
Currently there's no deadline. Feel free to ask me any questions you have. Other than that, happy voting and may the best level win!

I would like to give a big thanks for everyone who took their time to vote. I hope that everyone here did their best in attempting to submit fair, unbiased ratings for the listed levels. Here are the scores for the top 20 levels, ordered from lowest to greatest and rounded to three decimal places.
Phew! There! That's all of them! But the competition isn't over yet! These five levels serve as our nominees for the final vote. We must do another vote so we can truly decide which one deserves the title of "Level of the Year 2018" ...once and for all!
Before I announce the results, I'd like to make a small announcement to all the creators out there.
Firstly, if you got into Top 20 in Level of the Year, congratulations! It's a good thing that your levels are well-received by the community and I hope to see more stuff from you in the future. If you didn't however, don't worry! We all started from an absolute zero, as long as you keep improving, you'll be able to conquer next year's competition! In fact, I see many creators now improving their skills, and this is greatly reflected in their levels. You guys are doing great! <3
Here we go!
In fifth place, we have Mysteriocean by Three with... huh? Zero votes? That's quite shocking considering it made it to the Top 5. Perhaps everyone just preferred the other levels instead. Nevertheless, this chilly level is one frozen frenzy that will keep you on your frostbitten toes till the end!
Coming in at fourth place is Tree of Life by Nedison! Even though this level received only one vote, this gigantic, glorious Gem Hunt level that takes place in a luscious landscape is certainly worth your time.
Boscage by Lee takes third place in our competition with three votes. When simple gameplay meets elaborate design, the results can be mind-blowing! Don't you agree?
Second place goes to none other than Four Season Circuit by Kurt, with four votes. This enticing environment is perfect for racing and the stunning seasonal sections make it all the more interesting!
But now, the moment you've all been waiting for! The ultimate champion and the true titleholder of The Level of 2018 is...
Sling Stunts by Three! This cannon-filled adventure received five votes and is filled to the brim with innovative usages of cannons. This is no doubt Three's best level and the Level of the Year!
Before we end of here, I'd like to make one last message.
I'd like to give a special thanks to all the level creators in the competition. I can see that some of you took a lot of time for building your creations and I want you to feel proud for what you made. Even for the newer creators, I'm glad to see you're making an effort! Keep building! Keep on buildin'!
A special thank you to the people who gave me tips on how this competition should be run. You guys helped pushed the competition to the right direction and without you, none of this would've been possible.
And a final thank you to... well? You! Thank you for playing the levels and voting! I hope you had fun participating and saw these levels as an eye-opening experience.
See you next year! And thank you! (again)
