*NEW!* The Last Smiley levels, converted
I have managed to convert all eight levels (plus one scrapped level) of an old ball-rolling game, The Last Smiley, into MB levels. (And I've waited 16 years for this to be a reality!)
See all levels:  [Pack] The Last Smiley - Converted levels by evaneezer - Marbleland

See also:  The Last Smiley sounds, skyboxes and marble skins

3/13/2025 update: All 3 levels from another 3D game, Jimmy Neutron Invention Revenge, have been converted and formatted into Gem Madness levels. You may need to lower the graphical detail (in Options) slightly to prevent PQ from crashing, it happens sometimes. Hope you enjoy the converted levels!

Special thanks to RandomityGuy for helping me find a handy tool that converts .w3d files to .obj files, thereby allowing me to convert those to MB interiors.

My previous levels:
Eight Flags
Campground
Ice Cream Cart

I haven't got around to playing these yet, but I would advise you put the interiors used in the level in the .zip. That way, people won't have to download the entire CLA interiors folder in order to play them.

3/10/2025 update: New conversions of old levels from an old game. Check them out above!

I tried to make them as accurate compared to their original counterparts as possible. All unique graphics were exported from the webgame. Hope you enjoy!

Since you mentioned that you couldn't upload these levels to Marbleland, could you share what the error messages are?

Okay, here's the full error list that I get (as a spoiler below). Keep in mind that the metal and desert interiors need to be in different folders (as they are in the zip provided right above here) so that the desert interiors don't mistakenly use metallic textures or vice versa. If and when the Marbleland team gets around to adding these levels, it's really important that they make sure they organize them the way I did (because honestly, that directory flattening is not the best idea and I would strongly suggest recoding that upload service).

Warning: Spoiler!

I know it's a lot of errors, but some of it could be because of textures with the same name (for example, metal and desert versions of "floor" in different folders).
But it would be best to organize it all how I just did, because like I said, that "flattening" is just ridiculous to me.

Yes it is because of textures in the different folders have the same name. Marbleland makes no assumption as to how file are arranged in a zip so it flattens them so that it can build a directory hierarchy based on the data in the mis file.
Also please try to upload your levels one at a time instead of all levels in one zip, that's one way to cause such an error.

I've also faced this issue in the past by doing the same thing and I have also discussed it with the developer of Marbleland, for the foreseeable future, it doesn't seem like this would be fixed since the workaround is not that hard to do.

You're right! One level at a time is the solution. At first I figured I would make a pack with everything at once, but since I'm new to that particular uploading process I now see how packs are made. I uploaded one level at a time, and everything made it in like a charm! Each upload brought up a mild warning in dark yellow text that some textures weren't needed, but of course that was a precaution of mine. Thanks! :)

Original post updated to reflect the proper method of uploading and sharing levels. :)

I wanted to update one of the textures in one of these levels (because it hadn't occured to me before that paying for a recurring Photoshop subscription isn't the only way to make translucent/transparent textures). There is a message in Marbleland that reads, "Should you have a newer version of this level that you want to replace it with, use the update feature instead." I am fairly new to managing my levels within Marbleland, and I can't find the "update feature", someone point me to it please? Edit: I checked the page source and it would appear the only instance of an 'update level' button is commented out. Still wondering if I can update my level. Thanks :)

There is no update feature to replace existing assets, its just incorrect phrasing and the way people update their levels is delete the old version and upload the new version instead.

Also, DIFs don't really support transparent textures if that's what you were trying to do with this.

Well, that's a shame. The delete warning told me there was even 25 downloads since publication and integrity would be compromised upon deleting, that sort of thing.

The texture in question is translucent by the way (a see-through shade of green), and it appears fine for me.

Anyway, thanks for letting me know. Of course, it would be best I make sure I'm completely satisfied with my levels before uploading from now on.

Important note about Last Smiley levels. The jump impulse is set slightly higher, which doesn't seem to work in the web ports of Marble Blast. Levels 2 and 5 for example have gems or easter eggs that can only be reached if the jump impulse is high enough. (Again, they had to be placed that way to match up with the game.) So, PQ in its standard, updated form is the recommended platform on which to play these levels, as that is where I tested them.

The way you can make your levels compatible in the web ports is by adding the line:
setMarbleAttributes("jumpImpulse", 9.5);`
where 9.5 can be whatever number you want
at the beginning or end of the mis file (before or after the OBJECT WRITE BEGIN/END comments

I see, though as you previously said that would involve changing the levels offline and then deleting/reuploading each and every one at a time. I would still recommend PQ because the physics are just more familiar, and besides, the jump impulse was set with the Level Editor, not typed in the .mis manually. But thank you anyway for mentioning this code :)
