New Level!
-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Moving Madness

This level was made for the sole purpose of being fun to create! Don't see this as a very serious level, I made this for what I wanted to make. :)

That's a really nice level.
At that bit to the right in the picture I thought I was meant to use the mines to blow myself up to the ledge, until I saw the Speed Booster.
That bit also gave me an idea that I'm gonna put in one of my levels: If you use a Speed Booster and hit a mine in the right spot, you can shoot yourself up pretty high, and I believe it's higher than if you just jump on one; it blasted me up to the above gem!

Very nice indeed, I like this type of level a lot. Best time is 23.707! :)

EDIT: Found a slick tweak, got 17.235.

Your skills with gameplay and aesthetics are really improving with each level. Really digging this latest one. Always a fan of fun wacky looking MBG levels.

All posts from my account that were made before July 29 2013 are from the point of view of my dad unless it states otherwise.

Not sure how to quote more than one person per post easily, so I'll just reply to each of your posts without the quote.

WeatherWonders (I think that's your regular name) - Thanks for the positive feedback, and that sounds like a cool idea! I want to try that hehe.

RadiantVibe - I see you found the same tweaks I did...plus one...That's a sick time, I THINK I know where you did it, but I'm not sure. Great time!

MBK - Wow...great times! I will add them to the WR list. Also, someone beat the Icy Trouble WR a while ago with like 22 seconds I think. I forgot to add them :/

Buzzmusic - I'm suprised you enjoy this level so much; I actually made the majority of it around a month ago. I didn't finish it then because I couldn't make MP's, but now I can. I'm really happy you are enjoying my levels!

Make sure to keep posting when you get WR's guys, and thank you so much for all your feedback, whether it's negative or positive I can learn from it!

Just start a new post, and highlight what you want to quote, copy and paste it into your reply. Then highlight the pasted text you just put in and press the quote icon (a speech bubble icon near the center of the list of BB codes). Then a line above it put in bold "[username] wrote:".

I enjoyed your level! I feel like what you have to learn now is how to make triggered moving platforms. Then I believe that you're all good to go!

Some cool news to add: We have reached a total of 2000 views on this page! I just wanted to note this because that's quite a bit. It's now 2001 because of me looking now; plus a bunch of views from me. Still a lot by other people. Thanks for all the support guys, and keep on playin'!

That was my favorite level from you that I've played. I like that you are using all custom textures, with the exception of custom_woodblockside. Why did you include a copy of that texture?

I am absolutely terrible at making wood textures; I have tried before, and none ever end up well. The custom_woodblockside seemed to fit my level very nicely, so I just went with that. Thanks for the positivity! ;P

But why did you copy that texture if it's already in the game? Also, you should try making shader textures! ;)

I had to copy it because the textures go into platinum/data/interiors/BPXRockU, and there isn't a wood texture already in there ;p

Also, about shaders, that's a great idea! I forgot about shaders, I'll probably do that.

I've used textures both in my interiors folder and the main folder on one interior with no issues. You only need used textures in one folder for Map2Dif.

Yay, 200 posts. :P

Also, I see a nice level here which I'll try with no hesitation.

I was requested to play the level (not by BPX, but someone else) and give it constructive criticism, so here it is:

Pros:
- The interior was compact, but didn't feel claustrophobic
- The easter egg took a bit of thinking
- It was a short enough level to not get annoying
- I liked the gem on the caution stripe wall-hit challenge
- Overall level design was nice

Cons:
- The texturing. I disliked the choice for the bland-brown for the wall-tile scenery you've used. It is very MBP-ish and wasn't a good choice. I'd use a different color or switch to a different scenery system. If you keep that as MBP's, may as well make better than the original tile texture. Remainder of texturing for the level was okay at best, but I wasn't a fan of the cyan-floor texture either.
- No help text trigger where it mattered. I was legit stumped and going OOB for 5 minutes straight on the first Gravity Modifier because I kept thinking I had to jump and do some other fancy tricks, where all along it was just to press forwards and fall into it. Only when I saw the second gravity modifier I realised what I was supposed to do.
- Not enough replayability reasoning to go for the Ultimate Time. I realised I'm missing an obvious shortcut which was easy to do, but to make the ending go better (using the last gravity modifier) was not something I planned on focusing on. IIRC UT was 19, and I had 22-24.
- No checkpoints. Even one after the wall-hit gem challenge was sufficient.

Suggestions:
- Usage of signs. They always help to show the player where to go to next, but don't overdo them.
- Texturing: you're still a beginner and it's cool, but try and be more original on texturing and on being different. I've done that on TUFC, Slippery Steps [ice scenery] and Swivel [same-blue tex as level scenery] and got more positive feedback on those than on the levels themselves :P
- Don't make challenges be confusing or too hard. I was asked to play this level specifically because of that gravity modifier section because that person also got stuck there.
- Anything you can take from the pros/cons and make it better.

Overall, 6/10.

"matan, now i get what you meant a few years back when you said that "the level in mbg is beyond me" after the last rampage i noticed things were insane, and now i truly feel that too" - Dushine, 2015.

is there some .zip with all your interiors/levels somewhere? I can't be bothered DL'ing them one by one :/

Thanks for doing a full review on the level, I will learn from what you have told me to improve my next level! As for the gravity modifier section, I didn't realize it wasn't too obvious what you were to do, next time I'll have someone test the level before I post to get squeeze those sections out.
