Hello everyone! Been a while since I did a forum on here, So I wanted to write this

I recently got a Steam deck 3 months ago and I was wondering, Will the steam deck run PlatinumQuest? So i went ahead and copied the installation of the game from my computer to the steam deck and then added the exe as the non-steam game and run it on Proton Experimental! It actually runs very good and the only way to play is to have controller support enabled! I've been playing platinumquest on the steam deck now for about a couple of days and it's super fast, Little rough on the graphics from various levels due to probably higher resolutions and I'd probably recommend playing on docked at 1280x800 and on docked mode, 1600x900. Overall, 10/10!

Have a try yourself!

Licensing issues are likely the reason why PQ will never be on Steam

But also, IAC doesn't seem to give much of a shit about the game, so legal grey area?

That’s awesome to hear! I’ve had a similar experience running games on my Steam Deck with Proton Experimental. The graphics can be a bit hit or miss at higher resolutions, so dropping it down to 1280x800 in docked mode definitely makes a difference. I also found controller support to be essential, especially for a game like PlatinumQuest. Overall, it runs pretty smoothly for me too, and I’ve been enjoying it.

Okay...update, Since 2.10.0 came out the other day, I thought if it would work for my steam deck. But...it doesn't launch anymore. Now i'm preparing to downgrade to 2.9.4 because...well, That version only worked...If there's any fix, Plz let me know

2.10.1 didn't fix the bug, but the game will run fine in Desktop Mode, probably something to do with the addition of being able to resize the window freely
