Marble Blast Advanced WR Rampage

Hey! To make this short, I got asked several times to make a MBA WR Rampage. At first, I didn't want to, but then, I thought 2012 deserved a cool speedrun.

I am inviting the Blasting Community into this. The method to record your runs can be one of these : In-game recorder ($dorecorddemo=1; in console (.rec)), FRAPs or Screen Flow if your using a MAC. Try for the best quality possible. Can't record any of the runs? Help us find tricks/tweaks/paths!

also just PM me the .rec and if you have it via fraps then I'd prefer we used bittorrent (so you send me the .torrent file). PM those and I prefer if you uploaded the .rec/.torrent via mediafire.com


I'm saying 1024x768 coz thats the resolution I use. Any bigger video will be squeezed down, and lower-resolution vids (esp if you record it) will be seen as much smaller on the screen at the output video.

Also we could submit this to SDA Although if we do want to then it's .rec only.

ADDITIONAL INFO:

If you want to record by yourself, please set your prefs.cs like so:

$pref::Audio::channelVolume1 = 0.200000;
$pref::Audio::channelVolume2 = 0.300000;
$pref::Video::resolution = 1024 768 32;
$pref::useStencilShadows = 0;

and record the video at 64fps. If you can't, PM me and we'll work something out. If we end up sending to SDA, then vid resolution is 1024 768 32;.

do you want the screenflow file or a exported mpeg-4 video??

what's the screenflow file's extention?

Screenflow's file extension is .screenflow i think, windows user may not be able to open them.

Plus, i will help for this WR Rampage. If we send you directly a video, what extensions can we use for it? I'm not sure PC users can open .mov files. And what screen resolution is better to use? Maybe the video would be more enjoyable if everyone use the same...

I can work with AVI without any probs (and most prefer it), if you're going with other containers, we need somehow to convert to AVI pronto.

If it's Mac only then... You could record your run yourself and then send it to Matan I guess?

That's what he told me to do. I did it tough the FPS is a bit low.

I don't expect to do any runs because of two reasons: 1. I don't have much experience in MBA (basically the equivalent of 4 weeks) and 2. School is getting harder and harder and I have less and less time to play any Marble Blast.

Although there is my MBA No Gems compilation. While the overall paths won't do, there may be some tweaks I've used that may be useful even in a with Gems compilation. Unfortunately I'm not aware what they may be (or if they have previously been found).

I'll watch this topic regularly though, and good luck on the WR Rampage!

2006: Matan's Beginner Rampage (don't know if this counts).
2007: MBG WR Rampage 1 (technically late 2006).
2008: MBP WR Rampage Beginner/Intermediate. (Pascal also released a bunch of Advanced/Expert runs in individual videos.)
2009: MBG WR Rampage 2.
2010: MBP WR Rampage 2.
2011: MBG WR Rampage 3.
2012: MBA WR Rampage (planned).

I was thinking of a MBA WR rampage, and now it comes to reality.

was it neccesary to beat my 8.79???

Not really, I just wanted to try a different ending and I got lucky. I will stay at 8.78 so if you want to take it back go ahead.

I wouldn't convert mov to avi, that would be a serious hit to the video quality.

Then suggest them a way to record AVI because there are no programs to handle MOV/MP4 for editing purposes

Matan, wasn't the quality of the videos i sent you enough good? I agree the quality wasn't as good as the original but it wasn't that bad...
