Yes, good eyes. You've spotted a double post.
The reason is that I don't want this post cluttered up with my last post. I want this to be read as a single post, and I know it doesn't have a record attached to it, so feel free to move it if you want, but please don't delete it, because I want it to
be read.
The subject of internal clock carries, to me, a significant amount of importance. I have had an account for a year and a half and I am happy to have eleven world records and at least get recognized some way—or I was, until this new rule gets passed. Basically before the rule, I had those records because I was on a Mac, and now after the rule, those records are being taken away from me
because I'm on a Mac. I just don't really get it. Yes yes, I know that internal clock records are so pathetic, but think of it this way. Every marble blaster (probably even Xelna) started out on beginner levels. So my point is that I should start world records on easy levels as well. In addition, I don't have the skill yet for world records on more difficult levels. That is just to explain why ten out of eleven of my world records are IC, unless Gauntlet is now being considered an IC level. An alternative view, that I feel more passionately about, is that I spent a LOT of time trying to get the most out of my internal clock. Take Tornado Alley for example. On June 26, I got my wisdom teeth out, and for the next four days I sat in my room playing Tornado Alley over and over again and trying to install OBS and fix issues with that (which, by the way, never worked). Also, on the leaderboards, I have a lot of the final finishes for Tornado Alley. My point is that I put many hours into these ten internal clock world records (which is probably too much), and now they will be snatched from my hands just when I had them and was feeling proud about them by Kalle.
This brings me to another, though smaller point. I don't like how Kalle says,
DID SOMEONE SAY WORLD RECORDS?????
I strongly dislike how ostentatious Kalle is about it, because he already has many world records, and it's kind of reenforcing that this rule has been put in place in one of the worst ways possible. I believe that next, Kalle will attack all of the world records that I have gotten (except perhaps Gauntlet), and I would be very unhappy if that happened.
I feel that this rule should be repealed, because the whole point of recording records in vanilla MBG is that you shouldn't be able to inject code into the console, except for what is absolutely mandatory (namely $dorecorddemo=1;). I know that, in Kalle's words, it "makes it fair because Mac users' frame rate is ALREADY UNLOCKED," but again, I feel as if this is cheating. Therefore, I strongly feel that the frame rate unlock code should not be allowed.
