SUPPORT BOARD OVERVIEW & TIPS:

About Receiving Help from the Support Board: While all members may answer questions posted in the Support board, you should only rely on responses posted or confirmed by support moderators and website administrators. Any solutions provided by members of the community that are not verified by a staff member (as indicated by a light-green background) are provided as-is, and we cannot take responsibility for any of the results of said actions.

About Responding to Support Threads: If you feel you know the answer to a question, you are welcome to respond to the thread and politely offer assistance. Please be courteous and try to provide detailed and helpful solutions to users who may not be as advanced as you. We ask that you refrain from posting one-sentence solutions.

Please search for existing topics before creating one! It's quite likely someone else has already encountered a similar issue which was resolved. You can search for existing support threads by clicking here .

HI, I made a custom level using the mission template and renamed it and finished it. I want to know what do you do to get it posted and working for other people. Used Mac OS X with text edit.

Hello, and congratulations on building your first Custom Level!

To start, go to the Custom Levels thread (Click me) and create a new thread. Name it something you can find later, such as 'dlma's Custom Levels Thread'. The body of your post should contain a short description of the level, a download URL, and perhaps an image.

To generate a download URL for your custom level, first compact your .mis and .jpg file(s) (and any custom .dif files associated with this custom level) into a .zip file format. If you have not done this before, check this link for file compression of Mac OSX machines (click - EXTERNAL URL).

Once you have a .zip file, you can then go to a fileshare service on the internet and upload your .zip file. The community's top fileshare service is currently MediaFire (click - EXTERNAL URL). Read through the tutorial and instructions provided on their website to learn how to upload your .zip file and generate a download URL.

Once you have uploaded your file, copy the download URL provided by your fileshare service and add it to your Custom Level thread.

It is strongly recommended that you Modify the original post of your Custom Level thread each time you release a new Custom Level, so all users can easily download your content from the first, original post, rather than digging through a thread to find all of the files.

We would also like to ask you to refrain from making more than one Custom Level thread. Simply modify the original thread and add additional content to the first post.

Hopefully this helps, Good Luck!
