The beta is a public beta. That means everyone gets to play it, no matter which platform.
If you're on Windows, you can only play other users on Windows and Linux.
If you're on Mac, you can only play other users on Mac. Not Windows or Linux. However you CAN use a Windows emulator, such as CrossOver, WinE and others to play Marble Blast Platinum on. You will find they work fairly okay, but we are not taking any responsibilities for bugs caused by them. After all they're an emulator program.

Challenges and Super Challenges are the exception, it does not matter which platform you are or your opponent is.

1.14 and 1.50 are working on separate databases. 1.14 will continue to function on PhilsEmpire all throughout 1.50's pre-release stages, that means beta and release candidate (the latter if absolutely necessary).
Once 1.50 is considered final, 1.14 Leaderboards will be locked for everyone, and its databased locked as well. That means PhilsEmpire will no longer be used for Marble Blast Platinum.
When you create an account for 1.50 (final version only), the staff will link your times, achievements and other data from 1.14's database to 1.50's. Your work will not be gone.

There is no release date set by the Platinum Team. Do NOT decide yourself or guess. When we're expecting a release within a week, we will announce that. No exceptions. If any setbacks do occur, we will notify the community immediately.
We are aware of the extreme hype we have created throughout the community and yes we thank you all for your patience, but it is annoying to see users decide on dates when none were mentioned. It is also annoying to see users asking for early release in the cost of stability. This is not happening. We have not worked this long just to give users a broken mod.

The Platinum Team does NOT hire new members. We do not need any new members to our staff. We have gotten this far using our own resources and time, we are definitely going all the way through ourselves. Your best way to help us right now is to be patient. When the beta comes out you will have a chance to give us feedback.

If you are going to annoy us all with stupid questions or spam or not-useful-posts then you're going to find yourself getting a 2-days suspension from the forums on the spot, no questions asked.
Thanks for the helpful information. It's disappointing to get hyped over fake dates and such, so I must say shame on those who created them. Also thanks to RDs, it's closer than I thought, he is right!

I apologize if this has been asked before, but what exactly is the difference between challenges and super challenges?

QuArK is still a good map editor

You know what's boring? Opaque marble skins. You know what's not? Glass Marbles!

Challenges are very different. Challenge mode gives race and attempts mode, while super challenge gives one game mode. Super challenge mode supports up to 4 players in a lobby, while challenge mode supports 2. Super challenges are longer than challenge mode, they might contain up to 25+ levels in ONE super challenge round, while a challenge is per-level basis. I strongly suggest you watch under the hood again because matan goes over it very well, the differences go on and on. SC is way cooler too IMO because there is a practice mode as well, plus the coding on making things look pretty was absolutely stunning on what HiGuy did. That file in MBP is the largest script file we've ever had in TorqueScript compiled, over 120kbs COMPILED. : D

with a little bit of coding knowledge i can understand why cirtain things are taking particularly long, especially with only 2-3 people actually doing the coding if not just 1 :/

I'm even wondering how multiple people can work on code at the same time. I mean, that would only cause confusion, wouldn't?

When I'm coding, I always do it on my own, because
1. I and only I know exactly what I want the product to be
2. because I don't have friends who code.

PS.: Is next week a reasonable approximation for the 1.50 beta release?
*Edit*: I just read Matan's post again (We'll announce when we'll release it in the next week) and I'm sorry for this unnecessary question, but I wasn't sure if I'm allowed to remove it, so I'm writing this.

Wait hold up, did you not see what Matan posted near the end of page #2? They have been taking time out of their lives to make sure that the beta is released with good quality, and you asking Is next week a reasonable approximation for the 1.50 beta release? is not really going to help them. Lets all just be patient! Jeez!

I didn't DECIDE (It's tomorrow, guys!) or GUESS (It's probably tomorrow, guys!), I just asked if they are done sometime next week.
*Edit*: I changed my post.

Yeah I know that was kinda wrong, I've changed my post on that.

You know what?
This thread and the others are really going off-topic due to DavidsKanal continuously asking about the release date. When we'll be ready to announce one we will.

But since he clearly doesn't get it and he repeats the same questions every single time, for the sake of everyone here, I'm just locking these topics.

If anyone has an actual question or a post they want to write here, please send me a personal message with the post you want to write up, and if I deem it acceptable, I will unlock the topic for your post.

I will iterate from my post one last time:
When we're expecting a release within a week.
That does NOT say we'll announce next week, that does NOT say we'll announce when we'll release it next week and in fact it only means one thing:

When we are expecting that Marble Blast Platinum 1.50 Beta 1 will be released in 7 days from the time post of, we will announce that.
It therefore means that if we decide that the release date is the 8th November 2013, then we will post on the forums on the 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd or 1st of November 2013 that within a week from now the beta will be released.
There is absolutely no other meaning. Stop trying to make one when there is none.

As to DavidsKanal, he's getting the promised 2 days suspension.

Replying to an earlier question about web integration features:

You will be able to view your ranks in real time for the various Marble Blast mods, as well as control the ability to change the theme of the website to fit your aesthetic desires. There is currently no plan to implement a marble skin selector on the website, though you will be able to download custom marble graphics and add them into MBP 1.50 (not sure if other users will be able to see them in Multiplayer .. mayhaps IsraeliRD or HiGuy or Jeff can elaborate on how that works.)

TO ELABORATE ON AAYRL :3 since I can reply to locked topics in this board

I have been out of the relm for a while, with school work and personal life taking over D:

However, if I recall, as long as the server has the skin registered in the game and if client's don't, a binary transfer should take place between engine and client. Not 100% sure on that, and even if that is the case or not, there is no way to control it as that is at the engine level (can't be disabled or enabled afaik). Looks like something us and the beta users will have to test c:

After massive work from HiGuy and myself (and Jeff who's been helping when he wasn't TF2) we are very happy to announce that unless any unforeseeable problems occur (re: totally will happen now that we jinx'd it), BETA 1 will come next weekend.

If any problems do occur, we are being delayed by another 3 weeks from now (at the least) due to school finals and all.
