I still go to school on Monday, not sure about that. And with Matan's timezone, who knows?

We already have anti-lag code to help aid the lag. However, when a connection host lives in Australia and expects people from the East coast of the US to connect to him, packet loss and lag become our friends.

Not much more we can do, we already are interpolating the positions with 2-3 algorithms. Much more will just cause the game to lag and take more processing power, as well as a complete waste as not much more can be done than what we already have.

Good point, but why can't you just simulate the marble when there is no information coming in from the other players? Just take the velocity and simulate it until another signal from the player comes in. That way it'll look way more realistic, I think. If your connection would stop suddenly, all the marbles would just roll around until they stop, because they are being simulated. I think that's how they did it in MBO.

MBO was the shader engine, also in your web browser, so like a direct direct connect, so in the essence, it was smoother. This is just the Torque. And that would be misleading anyways...

There should be some magic team that transforms MBP into the Torque Engine.

We already did that. Blame the engine. Trust me I know how interpolation/exterpolation works, especially how the torque engine handles it. We did adjust it before and it made it look worse so we chose which values looked best, and what you saw works the best performance and rendering wise.

I thought open beta was when they were accepting new beta testers, like in MBF?

Open beta: The last stage of game development where the game is open to every player for a final test to the game and to resolve any issues that people may find.

Tomorrow is overrated.

Maybe Matan is suggesting next Tuesday, as opposed to this one. He said Tuesday, not tomorrow.

So still within about a week.

How about you tell us on what day of the week the announcement about the beta was posted? I'm sure you can figure it out from there.

MBF is in it's Public Beta phase, i.e. we select a handful of users from the public to help test gameplay during the home stretch of development.

Open Beta would refer to a release candidate of the client program available to any user that requests entry to the open beta program.

What are you people talking about I don't even

How about we have a discussion that PERTAINS to THIS topic. If you don't realize that we didn't announce a date, cork it.

Now to answer questions for those who are still confused after they were already answered too many times:

Public beta means everybody. (Excluding dragons, sorry Matan)
MBP marble movement is awesome, and if you don't like it, why don't you show me how I should do it then in a PM.

Quote:[5:34:04 PM] Threefolder: i think the marble movement is nice
[5:34:06 PM] Threefolder: ya know
[5:34:18 PM] Threefolder: for a 15 year old engine

But ya if you have an issue, please by all means tell me how to correct it when we are already probably doing what your saying.

A little reading can go a long ways! c:

And with Multiplayer, people can do funny movies like you did before with MBO. Am I right?

You forget a thousand things everyday. Make sure Marble Blast isn't one of 'em.

You mean stuff like Mega Marble Wars? I just loved those. I don't know if this new multiplayer-engine is made for that.
