Couldn’t you use that (or the TDN network) for multiplayer?

Here are some powerup ideas if you are adding more...

Restart: Teleports the marble back to the start pad.
Fan Deductor: Converts duct fans into small duct fans.

Not trying to suggest plaugerism, but you could use some MB9 ideas.

Glad this thing finally got posted, always had a dream that such a major update would come, ask Matan anyone (if he remembers) about my excitement to it...

Hopefully I can pwn in this version...hopefully...
And if there is anything I can do to help out, I'll try, even testing records, objectives etc...

We could use his server for other things, but we lack the networking people to code it.

Spy is presumably at Uni.

Jeez...That will be awesome.

I just have some questions about it.

Will you put levels in Expert, beginner etc. or in custom?
Will you put levels that are currently released? Just to have a hope
Will it be available in Windows 7?
What about is the size of it? Like 200 MB?

- I can't answer the first one (we said we don't like saying info)
- Public made? no. But if you go into a specific mode (more details will be revealed in later updates, which include full scale teasers and information, which we know you gonna love) then I'd say: keep it for yourself until the level competitions, as we're likely to take newer submissions over oldies.
- Yes, but we still won't support it (XP fully supported, Vista partly, Win 7 no support)
- Dude we finished, at best, <1% of 1.50. We don't know the size and won't know until we finish this.

Atleast we managed to fakely squeeze some info from him, thanks Matan...

Will there be a fifth group of levels besides Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced/Expert? Like Tutorial or Ultimate?

^ Ian made.

And level testing if there are any spots needed, *I* will contact you. Ditto for anything else that MBP ever needs in terms of staff since I handle that.

iMac - I can't disclose more information

Fan Deductor: Converts duct fans into small duct fans.

In place of your restart idea, you can just use a normal teleporter. This wouldn't work in all situations, but for the Fan Deductor you could make two copies of the same place with the different fans and have a teleporter that goes between them (with maybe a static dts, if you can make one).

I don't know how to make a dts, or a static one. I might look into Blender.

Will you guys be using Oaky's no jump, green/yellow RF, and frictionless terrain in 1.5?

The no jumping isn't a friction, that has to be built into the mis.

I can't say exactly what frictions we're using (classified), but we would have different textures for any.

The no jumping was a marble physics property.

Wish there was a no jump texture though
Should be possible by putting an invisibe magnet object you creat at the beginning of the level under the floor

Mmm..

..May be possible if you provide gravity properties to frictions...

..IE on X Friction, Gravity = 30
on Y Friction, Gravity = 999

On 30, you would be able to jump, where as 999 would permanently map your marble to the ground, rendering you unable to jump.

Now the only question is, can this version of the Torque Engine allow us to script gravity with textures, or any specific levels for that matter.

That would work (if you could make the game do it), but then more physics than just the ability to jump would be altered, because the gravity affects the friction of the surface, which would make the marble roll differently in addition to not being able to jump.

Is it possible to create a trigger box that disables one of the game inputs (in this case the jump input)? You could create areas of the level where powerups were disabled, or the forward key was disabled, etc.
