It might be unexcepted, but well, it had to happen someday.

As the co-leader of MarbleBlast Plus, i just got the permission from Martin5656565 (the leader himself) to upload the actual build of the mod, because i don't think it will live again (and the team don't have any reason to keep the mod for itself), and also maybe MB+ has some potential, even if it's unfinished.

So, i’m giving it to public as an incomplete release.

Download link (version I.R.1.02): www.mediafire.com/download/rcdy0bv820de1...st+Plus+I.R.1.02.zip

I hope you enjoy!

CHANGELOG:

I.R.1.01
-Added an In-Bounds-Trigger for some levels
-Removed a Four-Leaf-Clover in "The Garden", because it had 2
-Fixed the "Underwater" level causing the marble to be in low gravity in other levels
-Fixed the level "Icy Task" not being unlocked because it wasn’t marked as an intermediate level
-Removed the water trigger because it was buggy

I.R.1.02
-New dts shape for the coin because the old one caused the game to crash on some computers
-Fixed the level "Frictional Challenge Advanced" which wasn’t marked as an advanced level

Glad to hear that! Perhaps this will convince the other dead/zombie mods to follow through as well on this! It's a shame that so much in custom content is lost due to authors instead having focused on developing content for now-dead mods instead.

I gave MB+ a try today. This mod has a lot of great levels! Most of the gold times were very difficult, and I could barely beat most of them. I hope to upload some videos of these levels soon!

Bugs:
- the coin .dts prevents the levels from loading (but regular MBG gem .dts works fine).
- the 4-leaf clover (easter egg) doesn't appear in the level.

Thanks for telling me about them Can you give me some more details about those bugs (is there an error in the console, does it always happen, etc)? So maybe i can try to fix them.

For me, the game crashes every time I load a level. Weird. I can' together the console.log for some reason.

That's really weird... did you try a level without coins (e.g. Rolling) ? Because coins didn't work for MOTB (if so i'll remake the coin shape).

I changed the frictions textures and some sounds. That's a pretty cool mod! :)

@Legocreator768 it did the same thing for me at first as well, when I copied all the files. But if I copied just the .mis files, the interiors, and the skyboxes, all the levels loaded fine for me. I also copied the shapes for the new special MB+ marble as well. However, when I copied the file for the new coin .dts, any level with coins would crash. So I went back to the original gem .dts file, and the levels loaded fine.

Edit: 4-leaf clovers now work for me. It turned out that the game was not creating compiled scripts when I was running in C:/ProgramFilesx86/Marble Blast Plus.

What may be the source of your issue(s):

Windows users: try running as admin. Marble Blast may not be able to write files to working directory (where you installed it).
Mac users: there may be script conflictions with your library. Go (Finder -> Go menu -> Go to Folder) to your Library at ~/Library (enter into the Go window), find MarbleBlast, and delete every .dso file you can find in there.

Other things may just be mod-specific... your mileage may vary.

The only drawback I found is that the Brilliant Times are impossible or hard to beat! In the whole mod, I've beaten only 3 Brilliant Times!

Ralph wrote: The only drawback I found is that the Brilliant Times are impossible or hard to beat! In the whole mod, I've beaten only 3 Brilliant Times!

They're all possible, but chose to be equivalent to Ultimate Times in MBP, that's why they're a bit challenging. I'm pretty sure you can beat them ;)

Then i'll have to make a new shape for the coin i guess... I'll do that when i have the time.

Also i'll add a mention in the installation instructions about what HiGuy just said for Mac users (i didn't think about it while writing them). The best thing to do is to make a whole backup of the marbleblast folder in the library and use a new one for MB+, and to play MBG again, just use your backup so there's no confusion between MBG and MB+.

I tried out the mod for a little bit and the mod has some pretty decent levels so definitely glad it was released, albeit incomplete.

The brilliant times are also a nice challenge, much more difficult than other 'gold times' on most mods, but still beatable, with enough practice. More comparable to UT difficulty than PT difficulty.

I made a MBShifter script at one point which should work for managing the MarbleBlast folders for Mac users... Perhaps I should recreate it at some point.

Here's my review on the mod. I understand that it' scan incomplete mod, but I'm just going for what we have at the moment,

Levels: The levels were quite nice for an incomplete mod like this. About half of them were replayable and they had good Brilliant and (whatever the Gold Time was called) times. 7/10

Guis: This probably would' da been something you guys would've done last, because I saw only re-textured MBG GUIs. +1 for re-texturing. 1/10

Shapes: (Mainly focused on the marble here.) I love different marbles! I'm especially fond of marbles that aren't a full, solid sphere shape. The MB+ marbles brings awesome memories of what Cyberfox could do.
I'm writing this on my device in the car, so I don't remember much off the top of my head. I feel like there were a couple changes to the power ups and such, so i'll give that a +1. If there weren't any changes, take back the +1. 4/10 or 5/10

Challenge: Definitely some of the best challenge I've seen in a mod. A solid 8/10

20 or 21/40!

EDIT: Apparently I thought 10+10+10+10 = 50? Let's try that again.
50 replaced with 40.

I'll admit to not having played, but HiGuy wanted me to a do a writeup for our site when we present the mod as a downloadable option, so I had him screenshare and play. The Brilliant Times were ridiculous (I knew them to be possible though) and it was fun watching him play.

We loved the music and sounds, the skyboxes were nice, I personally enjoyed the very small nature-theme scenery (those flowers were good despite being basic).
I was shocked at the amount of content: almost 50 playable levels! This is far more than any other dead mod and a big thumbs up from me.
The gameplay is solid and has some variety, and the challenges were good. Some levels were definitely harder and out of place, and some were looking rather unfinished. Watching HiGuy was a pain sometimes due to the levels themselves being hard, not his skill lacking. That is also the downside.
Good thumbs up for the coin and 4-leaf clover (as a collectible!) and some remakes for shapes.
Textures are meh but hilarious at times (snake/python, G), the GUIs are obviously unfinished.

All in all, a solid 6.5-7/10.

Yeah, the gold times in this mod are far more difficult than the ones in MBG, and possibly harder than the Ultimate Times in MBP.

I currently have all gold times except:
[strike]Coins! (best is 6.11)[/strike] 5.95
[strike]Underwater (best is 17.01)[/strike] 16.94
[strike]Frictional Challenge[/strike] 23.58
Tightrope X-treme (best is 12.34)

I just remade the numbers and the Ready-Set-Go-OOB-Powerup Box pictures. They are not well aligned (especially the 1 and the 2) but they are good graphically.

I'm really glad to see that the mod is being well received, thanks everyone!

I just uploaded a new update (and i guess it will be the last one). It includes a new shape for the coin, not as good as MadMarioSkills one but at least the game will be working fine for everyone. Also now it's possible to unlock every levels without cheating!

Nice job! To be honest i didn't even know if Tightrope X-treme's Brillant Time was possible, so didn't except anyone to beat it by more than a second :p

Yeah, I didn't know if it was possible at first. So I compiled a really hard path with a lot of jumping between tightropes, and I eventually nailed it. My run is shown at the end of my 2nd MB+ video.

I might do a video of all the 4-leaf clovers next, but there are some (such as the one on the Super Bounce level) that I still have no idea how to get.

Wow. It's terrible for me the fact that a mod I worked is dead. But I am glad that our progress finally got released. I see various levels replicated by me.
