Another hotfix has been released that saves your game more often. If you're worried that a crash will make you lose information, you should redownload it now.

lol. look at this bug I found on Steam:
store.steampowered.com/search/?term=Quaternion
It's not listed there!
Also, it looks like users are bypassing the $60 charge and downloading it for nothing, you should probably fix that bug too.

Played for about an hour and so far this is amazing! Thoroughly impressed with what I've seen so far.

I've patched the game again and fixed two important issues. Now the game actually saves every time you respawn, and the options menu won't let you turn up the settings so high that your entire computer freezes.

Now that I've finished it (minus Time Attack and power cells) I'll just give some random thoughts.
GOOD:
Looks great and has a very consistent style, if a bit samey. Attention to detail on animations (marble jumping and going OOB in particular) is very nice.
Music is fantastic, I can't think of a track I disliked.
Overall level design is pretty good. The vast majority of the time I either knew where to go, or at least had an idea of places to try.
The change in focus from alpha-beta (interacting with physics objects) to release (augmenting your marble) was a massive change, and it was a change for the better. I honestly didn't have much hope for this mod before the demo released last (?) summer.
There weren't many times where the puzzles felt TOO overwhelming, and this was helped a bit by the hints system.
BAD/SUGGESTIONS:
Most, if not all, of the puzzles lack a reset switch. If you're really stuck, some of the hints tell you the solution of the puzzle, and they assume you haven't touched anything yet... which essentially requires you to restart the entire level if you're totally stumped. This happened to me on the final level, luckily near the beginning.
The wall puzzle in the blast level is the only puzzle in the game that doesn't have an "easier" variant before it, or a "harder" version after it. Perhaps game flow could have been slowed less by it if this wall mechanic was introduced earlier in the level before that final puzzle.
Either I don't understand the grapple ability, or it's incredibly inconsistent and frustrating to use. The one time this ability shines is during the final part of its level when you swing around on the disks -- it appears to be made for swinging around, so why did so much of that level revolve on using it to pull your marble upwards?
Final level spoilers below...
I don't really like giving ratings on a 1-10 scale, but just for the sake of ballparking it I'd probably give Quaternion somewhere between a 7 or an 8 out of 10. Great stuff, I'd say it was worth the wait.

I've been playing Quaternion for 3 hours.
Those graphics blew my mind. The variety of puzzles is outstanding. The new mechanics and features... I wish there were a few of them in PQ (but unfortunately, PQ can't have everything). It was lagging just a little bit (and a lot with this giant beam), but overall, the game is awesome. I'll just have some trouble recording it with Fraps.

The lag on the "giant beam" is intentional actually--it's a pretty intensive computation, and if you make it faster, it lags the entire game instead on older computers.

Can't open the game as when I clicked on the executable, my computer deleted the software immediately and I cannot get it back. I looked into it more and it said there was a Trojan attached with the .exe. Hopefully you can figure this out as I am really pumped to play this!

He doesn't need to fix anything, you need to whitelist the exe in your anti-virus.

In working on a video showing how to make custom levels, I discovered a bug in custom level support. This has been patched; please redownload if you want to play or make custom levels. The bug will not affect your ability to play custom levels but will affect the ability to record a best time.

Alright so I'll be blunt:
This won't happen.
The game uses copyrighted code/assets, which means you can NOT sell this or even have it on Steam for free.
Secondly Whirli will need to spend years remaking from scratch everything and I highly doubt that he will spend years of effort for a game that is a niche as it stands (very small community) and thus not even be able to recoup costs or effort in terms of sales (which steam takes 30%, and then you are also taxed so you probably end up with 50% of the sale to start with).
Also you can't claim titles unless you copyright/register/trademark them. He can use it if he wants but I bet you 100% he would just call it Quarternion because there is no point to call it something else.
"matan, now i get what you meant a few years back when you said that "the level in mbg is beyond me" after the last rampage i noticed things were insane, and now i truly feel that too" - Dushine, 2015.
