...I really don't plan on participating in this event anytime soon. The achievements and copy/paste MP levels are just not worth a play and get for me. It would've been better [strike]if some original levels were made for the event[/strike]. I found some originals but they lack the scaryness, meaning it isn't that scary.

It is still a good event; Nothing more, nothing less.

The reason I say that is because since I've been around the block, I've seen scarier things than this.

Why, our fabled Buzzmusic of course! He really does an outstanding job with the music remixes, and it really adds to the atmosphere of the entire event. I also feel obligated to give a huge shout-out to RDs.empire for his magnificent work with the DTS scenery you'll see throughout the levels. Without him, this event may not have come to fruition.

I think Kalle covered this...but since we're developing a game for a general audience, we had to be careful with what features we could and could not add for this event. There was talk of adding a slender-esque game mode and level series where the levels are much darker than their current state and random noises and objects would jump out at the user. We decided this would be too unsettling for the majority of our players (given the feedback from the earlier version of the Leaderboards disconnection sound..) and instead we went for a more soothing approach. The inspiration for the original levels draw from early MBG and Fubar levels with a hint of childlike aesthetics to really immerse the player as a young trick-or-treat-er marble.

Overall, I found the final product to be exceptionally well crafted and I am sure everyone can find satisfaction during the event. That being said, we openly accept constructive criticism and will do our best to apply any suggestions to future events and updates so we can craft seasonal experiences for the entirety of the community to enjoy.

MBP is targeted towards the general audience? That doesn't explain some of the game's taunts...

That looks great and beautifully frightening. I can't wait to play those levels plunged in the darkness.
By the way, I can make some more textures for this event.

I can't play it until I get home from Quebec (which is tomorrow), so I just want to ask, are we going to be able to collect candy during this event?

Yes.

Weather wrote: MBP is targeted towards the general audience? That doesn't explain some of the game's taunts...

Sadly, I was not in charge of the taunts...the only one of my hundred suggestions that made it in to the final release was Shazbot. Perhaps we can revisit the Taunts to provide a more robust and filtered arrangement down the road, but they seem to be here to stay. None of them in particular would offend any younger users, and with the ability to disable taunts from servers altogether it seems manageable.

I apologize that you will be unable to experience the event this year .. but we do intend to bring Frightfest back annually for new community members and anyone who may not have had the opportunity to experience or fully complete the event this year. There will be many, many more unique events like Frightfest down the road that you will be able to participate in.

We are all set for this event, but we may contact you with requests for future events if you're offering some textures to contribute. I'll let you know.

We understand that you're disappointed that you can't play Marble Blast at the moment, and we feel sorry for you. But can you please stop complaining about it? I feel pretty bad for saying this, but it is getting a little irritating to hear this from someone and I'm getting a bit annoyed. I'm sure others may be too.

Some sage advice:

When I was younger, I waited years saving $300 to purchase something that I wanted. I sold things on eBay and saved allowance. I did that because I knew it was the only way I could get what I wanted. Yes, I was disappointed on the things I was missing out on, but I waited because I had no other options other than to work hard for it. I couldn't just make a wish and hope that my problems would get better. Point being, if you want something, sometimes you have to wait (sometimes years!) to get it. Patience is a key virtue to success, and it's a valuable one at that. What I would suggest to you is, make the best of what you can do now instead of focusing on the negatives. Working/waiting for something is part of the satisfaction that comes from finally getting it. :)

Besides, there's always next year! Think on the bright side - you'll get to participate in Winterfest!

I love you, but your attitude is like that of a shrew. Your options? Take a pill or be my kill. Might I suggest that you wear a vest. Perish in class or be banished to the land of bluegrass, where dreams don't exist as you'll be eternally pissed.

I am 13 and I referee soccer games. Just a suggestion, but I made $60 this past weekend, and make $20-40 most weekends.
