Hey Mark, glad to hear you guys are working on a new game
The market begs for one and the current games are... not too good.
I'm wondering how many messages you just got asking to "test" and "help"
A few things from me:
- No traplaunching please. ( see youtu.be/udKk1S9h4JQ?t=473 )
- Wall hits/edge hits are nice and all, but watch out for some level-breaking routes. Check out the world record rampages among other videos of the community's elite to gather some info on what can happen.
- Diagonal movement, as cool as it is, could be blocked off if you wish. A lot of people like it here though.
- If you're using .dts then please watch out for possibility of the marble getting stuck in them or in their collision mesh.
- Avoid tightropes like the plague
- I liked the idea of being unable to OOB from the Z axis of whatever gravity you were on.
- Mega Marble wars are a must. Back in the InstantAction days we had a huge blast knocking each other out with Mega Marbles from the top of Promontory.
- Marble stacking was also really fun. Basically people spawn on top of each other, and without moving at all so the marbles are in straight line, and eventually you could shoot yourself extremely high thanks to mega marble stacking).
- Lag on multiplayer... try and do good on it. It got really bad.
Good luck with the development, looking forwards to it
"matan, now i get what you meant a few years back when you said that "the level in mbg is beyond me" after the last rampage i noticed things were insane, and now i truly feel that too" - Dushine, 2015.
