Aayrl will Dive once more into Icy Waters for Charity!

Hi Everyone!

Once a year, the lovely State of Vermont (USA) hosts a charity event for the Special Olympics, which involves telling waves of people to go jump into a 20 foot hole in the ice of our frozen Lake Champlain in the frigid month of February. This will be my third year participating! Am I insane? Well, you already know the answer to that!

The Dive occurs on February 4th, 2017 - a little over 3 weeks from now. Since this is technically a fundraiser, I invite any of you with a few extra dollars to donate on my campaign page to this wonderful cause! All of the proceeds go directly to the Special Olympics Vermont fund to help sponsor thousands of lives around the state of Vermont and the world to partake in the Special Olympics program.

Similar to last year, anyone who donates any amount (even a penny) will receive this adorable little Penguin flair icon to help remind you of your generous contribution to the Penguin Plunge!


For those of you who may not be able to donate, but still would like to contribute, feel free to share my fundraiser page with your friends and I'll think of a creative way to include all of you on my dive this February!

We had an icy blast! The water was actually quite warm compared to past years, it was a steady 30 degrees with light wind the entire morning. We did end up prepping a little too early, as we stood in line waiting for our call for about half an hour.. the anticipation was killer!

I have yet to find a photo or video, but our entire team ran to the waterfront, paused for a stoic pose before performing a synchronized dive into the frigid water. We had a lot of requests for photos, so I'm not sure if we were one of the favorite teams? There is a best dressed award that we'll hear about on Monday, so cheers to that!
