This update is scheduled to begin collection of records once the Shaders update is released and continue up until March 31st, 2016.
Any further submissions beyond that will NOT be accepted. No future updates are expected.
GAMEPLAY RULES:
You must record this OFFLINE, NOT on the Leaderboards.
Screenshot glitching is allowed. Checkpoint respawn button (to quickspawn) is also allowed.
Powerup/Gravity abusable Checkpoint and/or Respawn and/or Restart glitches are BANNED as they are unintended.
Every other glitch is allowed unless it was unintended. Please discuss before attmpeting runs using those glitches as they may be banned.
SUBMITTING RECORDS:
- When submitting records, you must submit to two decimal places.
--> If you improve 3rd decimal place, e.g. 1.239 to 1.230, your run is still rejected. you need 1.22X to be accepted.
--> If it is your own improved run on the 3rd decimal place, it is still rejected.
--> Only exception is faster overall time (think Gem Collection with less time bonus used)
---> Gem Collection and related levels also makes it that we accept a 2.349 over a 2.340 if the 2.349 has a faster run time.
- Date NOT needed.
- Please submit the way you want to appear in the rampage. Choose one of these three examples:
--> Learning to Roll – 1.23 – Matan ‘IsraeliRD’ Weissman
--> Learning to Roll – 1.23 – Matan Weissman
--> Learning to Roll – 1.23 – IsraeliRD
VIDEO RECORDING SOFTWARE:
Please be aware that amost video recording software require the same computer performance. Here is a quick list of video recording software:
FRAPS, Bandicam, HyperCam, Screenflow, OBS (free and recommended), ShadowPlay (Nvidia 600 GeForce series and above, recommended).
IMPORTANT: Some video recording software have watermarks/logos embedded on their videos. Those are not allowed! Submissions of those will be instantly rejected.
VIDEO RECORDING GUIDELINES:
- Resolution is 1920x1080. 1280x720 is allowed if you can't handle 1920x1080 for whatever reason. You need permission first, don't assume you can.
- 60 fps
- Shadows OFF
- Color Depth 32-bit
- Thousandths ON (doesn't hurt to have them on, and we look at two decimal places anyway)
- Frame rate OFF
- Live Replays OFF
- Vertical Sync YOUR CHOICE
- Field of View YOUR CHOICE
- Particles: 100%
- Radar ON with THIRD MODE (arrows). Radar Z-Axis ENABLED (under Options->Online). Radar allowed to be off as it does consume system resources, but it was really optimized to do as little as possible.
- Original audio is not needed. Custom music will be added to the rampage to replace the in-game music.
- Please cut your recording accordingly to show the escape menu, and finish with 2-3 seconds of the full end-game screen with your top 5 times. Trust me, every second you add after 3 seconds is just wasted disk space.
--> If you use the screenshot glitch on a MP level, you must show two seconds before pressing the ESC button for the restart menu and performing the glitch.
SUBMITTING VIDEOS GUIDELINES:
- Raw video output is preferred. Yes, it will be 3-5GBs (assuming a single run was done in that video).
- AVI is preferred output. DIVX, MP4, MKV, MOV are all compression formats and are NOT raw video. Their quality is therefore worse by default. See below for further notes on those.
- Upload videos to: MEGA (50GB free), Google Drive (15GB free), DropBox (2GB free)
- After you uploaded the video, send the download link to marbleblastforums@gmail.com .
SUBMITTING SELF-ENCODED VIDEOS GUIDELINES:
Self-encode only if you are able to. It is preferred not to.
- Resolution as above. No exemptions.
- 10,000 kbps bitrate
- Video must be 60fps or higher. Most encoding programs give you 30fps, but there are free programs that give 60fps, which is why it is restricted to it.
Sony Vegas is recommended for 60fps. Free ones include OBS and ShadowPlay self-encode videos as .mp4 and are 60fps if you record as such. Free encoding programs exist such as SDA's own encoding program Yua, and the ever-popular HandBreak.
- NO WATERMARKS / LOGOS. Instant reject if you have those
SUBMITTING A QUALITY TEST VIDEO:
AVI, MP4, MOV, MKV, DIVX AVI are accepted. If you submit MP4/MOV/DIVX/MKV please make a 10 second test video and send it to me so I can see whether I can re-encode properly. If I can then you can use the settings you have used for all your videos. If you use anything else e.g. MPEG-2, you must pass the quality test.
Filsize doesn’t matter. I have 3TB of space.
Good luck to everyone!
YouTube will be offered in 1080p OR 720p60, and future re-encodes will be in 2k/4k with 60fps
"matan, now i get what you meant a few years back when you said that "the level in mbg is beyond me" after the last rampage i noticed things were insane, and now i truly feel that too" - Dushine, 2015.
