Marble Blast Levels 13

This compilation can be seen as a kind of sequel to Marble Blast Levels 7.

Diamond Round-Up (12.26): I managed to do the WR path (minus the edge hit, although I actually got that on a few occasions).

Gravity Knot (5.36): Weird ending. PR is 5.34, and I can't seem to get 5.3x with any degree of reliability (but 5.4x is not hard).

Ground Zero (1.86): I tried the screenshot technique and the results were less than satisfactory (still PR though)… oh well maybe next time.

Cyclone Launch (8.89): I was aiming for a sub-9 after I found that I could beat my previous 9.21 (?) easily.

Loop Exits (5.86): I had a different jump pattern (I'm not sure if I uploaded a video of it or not) that only got me 5.87-5.89 max. I tried one close to the WR jump pattern and it easily got me a lower time. Since then, I got an even better time, 5.82.

Wall Master (28.99): You may remember that my previous video of this level had the sign hit but was not a good run otherwise. I attempted to remedy that with this run, and so I take off nearly 2 seconds on the final time. The 7th diamond pissed me off; I always overshot it and this is one which I finally didn't do so (but notice I go too close to the wall before the 6th diamond).

Marble Agility Course (16.53): The part with the 4 diamonds on the U-shaped things was annoying, as I didn't get any consistency in my jumping/rebounding/EHs. So, I use the typical iMacmatician approach of using a mechanical process to reduce timing variation, the result being I can get it right with a 50% chance (maybe higher). I finished with 9.85/10.00 on the TMs, at that time it was surprising because in all my previous attempts the time ran out, but since then I've made more runs with the time intact (final time higher than 16.53 though).

Puzzle Ordeal (13.48): Viewers of MB Levels 7 may remember that in the run of Puzzle Ordeal in that video had me stopping at the marble-sized hole. I aimed to make a run in which I get through both the vertical hole and the marble-sized hole, and with some other path improvement, got me a mid-13, which I didn't expect to get anywhere near.

Orange-Fold Maze (15.36): The part before and during the collection of the last diamond was the trickiest part of the run. I saved time there compared to my previous runs but I think I could still save more time.

Nuke Field (19.57): I made some interesting path changes at the start so I could nuke hit to the finish on a nuke that also had a diamond on it. Even without the tweaks I still did the level much faster than I was intending.

Beach Party (19.10): The main reason I re-did this level was so I could take the TM at the start (which in the days of my earlier video of the level I didn't know how to).

Slip Up (16.92): My messed up path during the carpet/rug slopes and diamonds on small ice squares part in my earlier video kept irking me until I re-did this run.

Treacherous Path (9.71): After a while of not being able to do the nuke hit path, I was able to get it down for a 9.71. I was tense at the end, so I accidentally activated the helicopter too early. Thankfully, the time didn't restart.

Thief (45.81): The second-to-last level in MBP Advanced section that I was unable to do has been completed by me. Much like the Pathways 24/25 path, this path is a slower path version of Matan's old WR path, and so it can theoretically be moved to it (and so a 40.xx time) as/if my skills improve.

A time can be beaten, but a path can't be rediscovered. The best path stays forever.

All there's to say besides the good job had been left in the comments.

"matan, now i get what you meant a few years back when you said that "the level in mbg is beyond me" after the last rampage i noticed things were insane, and now i truly feel that too" - Dushine, 2015.

Nuke field and Orange fold are insane, the rest are pretty good too...

Marble Blast Levels 14

The 14th compilation of my Marble Blast Levels.

Collect the Gems (8.80): I was going for around 9.00 or 8.9x but I suddenly hit a 8.80! The main reason for the low time seems to be the abnormal catch of the 1st gem.
Platform Party (10.88): Another unexpectedly low time. I was going for a 10.9x. I was also trying to include Pitfalls in this video but I couldn't get the path tweak for 10.8x to work (I got it about twice before, not on .rec).
Obstacle Course (4.45): I tried the WR path for a while and I got a gimped version of the path down by what appears to be luck. Can't seem to do better.
Ramps Reloaded (14.61): A few tweaks from my previous 15.09 gives this time. My previous best was 14.72 or so.
Whirl (6.04): I tried the jump once from the loop to the TTs method and got it down after a number of tries. The loop exit really pissed me off though.
Pipe Dreams (14.68): I tried the edge hit on hole method. Can't seem to do the EH as well as other people can, but I got sub-15 and that's the main thing that mattered to me.
Daedalus (4.37): Path by AlexTheProMacGamer (I think), although the part after the 5th gem is all mine (allows the time to remain stopped). Now, there are ways to get the 1st TM in 3.3x…
Battlements (16.59?): The edge hit method for an easy (at least after you do the EH) sub-20. I can't seem to get on the platform on top of the fan after the EH though, but if it were possible it would save much more time. One or two .rec's were messed up, this was basically messed up too, but it worked after many tries. (The real final time may have been 16.54.)
Icarus (16.34): Not exactly the (old) WR path, but not far from it either. PR is 16.2x.
Battlecube (14.46): After watching Pascal's videos of this level I found out the timesavers on this level, especially for the last set of gems.
Technoropes (10.28): What you get when you stick a bunch of (at their time) WR paths together in a route that I am able to pull off.
Divergence (3.42): Another 3.42, just for the heck of it. Compared to my MBP WRR2 run, this run features the 2nd TM caught JRONI's way.
Swivel (9.35): I'm just trying to do this as fast as I can. The ending doesn't quite pan out for me, I still seem to mess up if I try diagonal after the SB…
Getting Squeezed (43.33): I attempted the path where you traplaunch high up and rebound on the last diamond to the finish, but I never got that (in a previous month I tried it and almost got it). Instead, I ended up with this path and a probably faster time than the rebound path.
Bounce Control (32.32): The Super Speed part was the most annoying for me, I'd always go too high/far or not enough.
Random It Up! (is that the level name?) (16.90): .rec's will mess up on this level because when you replay the .rec the Random PowerUp will select a new random PowerUp, not the one you .rec'ed on. The path I used on this run is similar on a global scale to the one I normally use / aim for, but there are some differences like for the loop exit I normally use the Helicopter but here I used the Jump Boost.
(Forgot level name) (19.75): Not too easy to get sub-20, and for a while I couldn't even get UT until I found that small TM behind the sign after the 3rd diamond.

Songs: Katy Perry - E.T. and My Chemical Romance - Famous Last Words

Avoiding Hazards (3.57) and Orange-Fold Maze (13.24)

Avoiding Hazards (3.57): Path inspired by asuul714's Improved iClock Technique. The path is surprisingly hard to pull, I almost always hit one or the other of the walls (2.5-2.8 secs). A better run may go 0.03 faster.

Orange-Fold Maze (13.24 WR): Totally new path! I was doing some No PowerUps runs for a future video and I got a 14.9 or 15.0 on Orange-Fold Maze. (An earlier version of this path had the third gem caught elsewhere in the run, I then found out that the slope hit following the two successive Gravity Defyers got the marble high enough to where that gem was.) My PR was 15.36 (with PowerUps), so I wanted to see how fast this path could go. I made a few tweaks that saved some time and eventually ended up with a 13.24, which was quite surprising because I was aiming for about a 13.6.
I'm quite sure this path can go sub-13, anyone wanna try?

But I've used the keyboard ever since I started playing Marble Blast (since I had/have a laptop and trackpad camera is awkward), and I don't want to change.

God my wow. Just wow. I loved, absolutely LOVED Orange Fold Maze.

About the discussion with the mouse, I actually complained to Pascal I was upset with some of your MBP Rampage videos because you did not use the mouse, thus costing you several seconds in an otherwise extremely good runs. I still wait for the day you'll use a mouse

No Gems 2: The Second Compilation

I've been working on a second No Gems compilation since October of last year. I've kept it a secret since then (only Matan and Dushine knew about it), but now's the time to give a trailer. No Gems 2 will be (and is already) much better than my first Marble Blast: No Gems compilation, especially in the long/Expert levels (my runs of many of them turned out to be somewhat of a disappointment).

You may remember that there were 3 MBP levels that I couldn't do even without diamonds (Morph, The Ultimate Friction Challenge, and Mastering the Marble). Well, all three will be in No Gems 2.

Currently planned composition of No Gems 2: The Second Compilation:
1. MBG Beginner
2. MBG Intermediate
3. MBG Advanced
4. MBP Beginner
5. MBP Intermediate
6. MBP Advanced
7. MBP Expert
8. Bloopers
9. Weird paths and other extras

Estimated completion date of final video is early September (2011).

P.S. I've made it in the style of the MBG WRR2 Final Trailer. That's a clue about these videos, isn't it?

And I know the color is off…it's a side effect of the multiple video exports I did…I'll try to fix or work around it before the final video.

The music reminded me of Yoko Ono at the end. It was kinda freaking. Still really looking forward to it. I don't think Marble Blast Videos are as great as they used to be. This is really great!

Can't wait! IMO No Gems is a neat idea because it really lets you find the fastest way through a level! I'm excited!

I love you, but your attitude is like that of a shrew. Your options? Take a pill or be my kill. Might I suggest that you wear a vest. Perish in class or be banished to the land of bluegrass, where dreams don't exist as you'll be eternally pissed.
