We have lately started working on a cool project for MBP. For the sake of keeping the name secret and stuff, we'll name it by its current version number. Let's call it... Marble Blast Platinum :: Version 1.50.

What does it have? Well, our staff don't like to say info until intended release dates where we say some things but we've came to the conclusion that some info has to be given out.
- At least four new game modes. You heard us right! What are they? Quota, Haste, Consistency and Hunt. What do you do in them? We'll keep you waiting, but you can probably guess if your English is good.
- Over 100 creatively new levels from not only the Platinum staff, but a number of guests as well! Oh, and did we mention you'll have a chance to have your level released as one of the officials?
- A whole new game: Platinum takes itself to the next level with new features that will change the way you play Marble Blast.
- An epic new environment setting to blow you away.
- Release date? 2011. Why so late? Because Version 1.50 has a lot in it, and is going to be awesome.

"matan, now i get what you meant a few years back when you said that "the level in mbg is beyond me" after the last rampage i noticed things were insane, and now i truly feel that too" - Dushine, 2015.

Version 1.5? Version 2.0 sounds more appropriate.

This sounds absolutely mind-blowing.

Sounds like tons of fun. I could do a few levels or something if you want me to.

@infiniteaionfun: We will certainly have video and picture previews, and maybe even a demo, once the release date gets closer.

@Sonic: You will have that opportunity through the LCs.

@Marblefire, yes, 1.50 sounds more appropriate for such an update. I guess you could think of how major the transition between 1.02 and 1.10 was, and then multiply that by about five. Yes, this will be quite huge

Besides, some parts of the multiplication by 5 was given out in the first post.

This is SICK! I've wanted an update of this magnitude to MBP for some time (not because I don't like MBP, I do, but I always welcome improvements).

Man you guys are creative. I can't wait. I can't decide which of the 4 main features I like the most (based on the descriptions)!

I'm assuming there will be incremental updates to MBP before 1.50?

I'll try to guess those game modes, even though I'll most likely be way off. Quota: Get a certain subset of diamonds/TMs out of all in a level? Haste: Time limit from one diamond to the next? Consistency: Make a run as close to a certain run as possible? Hunt: Diamonds placed in a level in random positions every time the level loads?

A time can be beaten, but a path can't be rediscovered. The best path stays forever.

Ooooh. That sounded too epic. I don't think I can wait till 2011.

Btw, will it have a plot? I've always dreamt of a marble blast game with a progressive plot. *I suck too much to put it into action*

If you mean plot to be a sequence of causes and effects, then probably yes. If you mean it to be a story with emotions and dialogue, then probably no.

I'm hoping that all of the current levels will still be unchanged, sort of like the MBG levels are now. Also, I'd like to see more levels that represent real-life places, such as walking around a museum and finding gems in the cases and in the basement, etc.

I'm currently working on a level that might have a chance at making it in....it's an ultra course that teaches people how to essentially stop their marble when they're rolling.

Probably no multiplayer in 1.50, but that could always change. There is a severe lack of networking people.

I thought Spy had a server, the one you use for the LB’s.
Couldn’t you use that (or the TDN network) for multiplayer?

Phil hosts the LB server; Spy will be gone until the middle of the year because of real life.

I will probably be buying Win7 w/WinXP mode before the release date of MBP 1.50 or 2.0 for more sanity. BTW, nice.
