After many months of development and testing, we are proud to announce a new update to PlatinumQuest! This is the first version to utilize a reverse-engineered engine source, alongside an updated renderer, much thanks to the dedicated efforts of Torque3D developer James Urquhart. The game binaries have been updated to 64-bit as well as bringing back the long lost MacOS support since it dropped 32 bit support. It now runs natively on both Intel and M Series Macs.
This update ensures the game runs smoothly on modern hardware and takes its all advantages to run the game at the highest FPS possible. There have been significant performance improvements and optimizations done on the game to fix many of the longstanding graphical and engine bugs.
Please note that this upgrade comes with an increase in system requirements. They are as follows:
- 2 GB RAM
- Vulkan / DirectX 11 compatible Dedicated or Integrated graphics card
As far as new additions to the game, here are some notable ones:
- The game window is now resizable by dragging the borders.
- Default Torque features (Terrain, Water, etc.) have been restored, with editor support included.
- All remaining MBP Easter Eggs have been re-added, along with the items necessary to collect them.
