This update already started where were you?! and continues up until people are satisfied, and then someone beats a record and everyone gets pissed off so we all agree on discord (#speedrunning) that we're good and no one must beat any more WRs until release. And then Xedron gets one in like 3 seconds.
All runs must be done on .rec unless express permission is given.
Runs must be recorded on Vanilla MBG, with the framerate unlocker enabled. You may run with the unlocker disabled.
Screenshot glitching or other forms of lagging your game are BANNED. Minimum FPS is 30 for this reason.
Powerup/Gravity abusable restart glitches are BANNED.
Every other glitch is ALLOWED unless there is widespread agreement in the community. Please discuss before attempting runs using those glitches as they may be banned.
- When submitting records, you must submit to THREE decimal places.
--> If you submit to TWO decimal places, then the third one will automatically be assumed as a 9, and be listed as such.
--> If you improve 3rd decimal place, e.g. 1.239 to 1.230, your run MAY be rejected. However doing 1.22X will be accepted.
--> If it is your own improved run on the 3rd decimal place, it will be ACCEPTED.
--> An EXCEPTION is a faster overall time and/or a more entertaining run. Examples: Xelna's scaffold with edge hits, or a level with less time bonus used. You must match or beat the previous time, though.
- Date of recording is required.
- You must submit the way you want to appear in the rampage. Choose one of these three examples:
--> Learning to Roll – 1:23.587 – Matan ‘IsraeliRD’ Weissman
--> Learning to Roll – 1:23.587 – Matan Weissman
--> Learning to Roll – 1:23.587 – IsraeliRD
-> Lack of the above will default to your username only.
Rather than keep in this topic all submitted records, there's a community spreadsheet that is kept
at this link (click here yo).
It is expected that Matan and the maintainers of this spreadsheet will ensure that Matan has the latest videos, is kept up to date and nothing is missing.
It is expected of Matan to maintain at least one full copy of the World Record Rampage of the original and/or edited files.
VIDEO RECORDING GUIDELINES:
Unless you have a good reason, you MUST USE Gold's inbuilt recording system (.rec).
If you are given an explicit permission to record a video, you must still record on .rec regardless as your main backup.
You must record using your marble skin. If you don't I'll **** your life. Or ban you. Or something. I'll probably just frown at you a lot.
If you are given permission to record a video, here are the following guidelines:
- Resolution: 1920x1080.
--> 1280x720 or higher is allowed if you can't handle 1920x1080 for whatever reason. You need permission first, don't assume you can.
--> Be aware that we prefer 16:9 resolution, or something close that can be translated to 16:9. Do not use wacky resolution formats.
--> We will aim for the highest resolution at 64fps you can handle first rather than go for 1280x720 immediately.
- Max FPS: 64 fps. 30fps is allowed if you have a good reason (e.g. traplaunches or mine hits).
- FOV: Your choice
- Shadows must be turned off
- Original MBG audio must be used, no music or sounds of your own
- Volume in your prefs.cs must be set on this:
$pref::Audio::channelVolume1 = "0.200000";
$pref::Audio::channelVolume2 = "0.200000";
- Minimum bitrate: 10,000 kbps. Recommended to be at least 50,000kbps.
- MUST finish with at least 3 seconds of the full end-game screen with your top 5 times.
If .rec is sent, then Matan will record the .rec for you. It will use highest possible settings. Please specify the FOV you want the video to be recorded on if you don't want 90 to be used.
VIDEO RECORDING SOFTWARE:
Please be aware that almost all video recording programs require the same computer performance. Here is a quick list of video recording software:
FRAPS, Bandicam, HyperCam, Screenflow, OBS (free and recommended), ShadowPlay (Nvidia 600 GeForce series and above, recommended). Note: Some video recording software have watermarks/logos embedded on their videos. Videos submitted with those will be REJECTED.
If recording by yourself, raw video output is preferred. Yes, it will be a few gigabytes in size (assuming a single run was done in that video).
SUBMITTING VIDEOS GUIDELINES:
- .rec is the preferred format.
- AVI is preferred output. DIVX, MP4, MKV, MOV are all compressed formats and are NOT raw video. Their quality is therefore worse by default. See below for further notes on those.
- Send .rec to Matan on Discord via a personal message, or upload video to: Google Drive (15GB free), DropBox (2GB free) or mega.co.nz (50GB on signing up).
SUBMITTING A QUALITY TEST VIDEO:
AVI, MP4, MOV, MKV, DIVX AVI are accepted. If you submit MP4/MOV/DIVX/MKV please make a 10 second test video and send it to me so I can see whether I can re-encode properly. If I can then you can use the settings you have used for all your videos. If you use anything else e.g. MPEG-2, you must pass the quality test.

Last edit: 07 Feb 2019 15:01 by IsraeliRD. Reason: Edited for adding a true time to beat
Might as well list my times up to date since it's obviously very convenient and I'm not looking for thank yous.
Pitfalls: 10.274s - Sub-10.3 hypppp Winding Road: 10.054s - Will get sub-10 eventually.
Monster Speedway Qualifying: 13.966s - Sub hype taken a little too far. Space Slide: 4.452s - Recorded at either 50 or 40 FPS with setTickInterval. Upward Spiral - 9.920s - Best Non-PJ time so not WR - will be finishing this up soon.
Money Tree: 35.015s - Might get the sub if I care enough. Three-Fold Maze: 18.577s - Love this ending tweak so much lmao Scaffold: 0.836s - Why is this even important? Under Construction: 2.482 - Not 2.47x rip
First player ever to get all of the Awesome Times.
Grand Finale - 28.888. First sub 29 finish so if anyone gets close I might try more but the run def wasn't bad.
Jump Jump Jump - 2.368. Literally unbeatable lmao I can't even get these catches anymore
Hop Skip and a Jump - 7.847. I don't see anyone beating this since it's an uninteresting level no one runs
Take the High Road - 6.118. Same as above
Great Divide - lmao piss off, up for grabs to whoever wants it, 17.105 is the best finish (but not recorded)
The Wave - 5.827. Basically just a sanic speed version of xelna's run, Ramp Matrix'd over half of the gems too
Leap of Faith - 6.933. Idk, feel free to go for it, I haven't been able to beat it at least.
Freeway Crossing - 4.836. Very likely improvable as this was my first finish. Will try more at some later time.
Tube Treasure - 22.725. Sub 22 is possible in a perfect run that includes a tweak Regi made me do.
Escher's Race - 24.871. Run looks solid but will likely fall in 30 minutes when Xedron sees the tweak
Twisting the Night Away - 18.016. Lmao run looks like shit I have no idea how this time is so good. I haven't been ableto beat it either.
Free Fall - 6.614. Completely desynched,
Pinball Wizard - 3.100. Better catch is possible so I'll try a bit more later, sub 3 looks imposible though
Eye of the Storm - 2.634. glhf if you wanna go for it, basically just an IC level on steroids.
Tightrope - 11.566. By far my best run submitted, no contest lol.

The following user(s) said Thank You: hPerks, Cobalt
Moto-Marblecross (1.973s) - Nifty new path with a different TT, this is my lowest catch so dunno if I'll go for any better. Monster Speedway (6.755s) - New path, godly run with a very low TT catch - I haven't gotten one below 6.75, but I also haven't really tried. I wasn't planning on finishing without time running out, but this run is pretty much maxed out. Around the World in 30 seconds (9.270s) - Close to perfect, could use a bit more ramp matrixing here and there but I certainly don't see it going below 9.20. Will o' Wisp (10.466s) - Tough new path, super optimized. This record will stay for a while. Ramps Reloaded (12.175s) - Another tough new path, close to perfection. PERFECT ending, never gotten anything like that before and it's super unpredictable. Sub 12 likely impossible without additional tweaks.
I'm glad that my least optimized run, and most boring new path - Airwalk 12.447s - was decimated by Regislian using that same path. I was never good at that level.
I've also tried pathfinding Marble Playground and Darwin's Dilemma. Those seem to be the least dead levels where new paths are concerned, but I haven't found anything yet.
Also Upward Spiral... literally kill me
Also Eye of the Storm... .001 off of the WR pls
I will take back my precious paths

Tri Twist: 20.357s - Good lord. Half-Pipe: 3.722s - Had absolutely no idea this low was even possible. Far and away my best catch. (I forgot to check bonus time remaining. :c)
Great Divide Revisited: 8.082s - Yes, I'll improve. Go away. Daedalus: 3.252s - No comment. Stupidly hard to stay on with this catch. Darwin's Dilemma: 3.040s - This tweak is so freaking stupid and I love it. King of the Mountain: 3.638s - Still a little bit improvable but everything else is hard enough.
First player ever to get all of the Awesome Times.
Just so you know, Kalle says Daedalus can go 3.16.
And I guess I'll post my newer times... Really nothing interesting though.

Jump Training - 3.695 - 18 November 2018
Learn the Super Jump - 2.933 - 15 December 2018 (This took several weeks because I was doing it wrong)
Platform Training - 5.730 - 11 December 2018 (Kalle said 5.73 was possible and he was right)
Elevator - 3.574 - 17 January 2019 (Old run had weird camera angle at the start)
Time Trial - 2.168 - 4 January 2019
Super Bounce - 2.911 - 18 January 2019 (0.001 improvement because the old one was ugly)

Mine Field - 2.208 - 27 January 2019
Trapdoors - 2.202 - 17 January 2019 (Still haven't gotten below this, Kalle's 2.201 is unrecorded)

Dive - 12.141 - 24 December 2018
I might try both Great Divides again at some point, but I probably won't get anywhere soon.
I'll just make a list of my current runs with dates, no descriptions because im really happy with the optimization of these (although I will try to improve Tri Twist as much as possible, and possibly Icarus)

"cna you salt spalt the slevel salt of 6 year salt who ca salt the lsat" - nobody, 2017
I've been trying to attempt some world records, but in the original MBG, I can't copy + paste in the console to get a .rec running 'cause my ctrl key is absolutely screwed!
Anyway, didn't Xelna get 5.68 on Platform Training in the WRR #3?
Marble Materials Lab - 4.436 - 14 February 2019 (Quite sure this is frame perfect.)
Mine Field - 2.204 - 1 February 2019
Trapdoors - 2.196 - 31 January 2019
The Wave - 5.724 - 25 February 2019 (Tried a lot more and can't beat it.)
Points of the Compass - 6.628 - 4 March 2019 (Will definitely improve because this didn't have an edge hit at the end, nor did it use Xedron's edge hit.)
