The texture on top of the wooden trim doesn't line up. You can fix by recreating it and not pressing the align texture to face button.

Hey Pablo, would you mind showing another picture of a curved diamond, perhaps with different dimensions? To me, it just looks like a standard cone with very few faces that has been flattened out and cut in half.

Thanks

It is like a standard cone, except the side that it's cut off on is curved.

Why don't you get 6.6 and make your own curved diamonds to look at?

Good job, but I see some errors - the trim all the way to the left looks like it has a misaligned texture; the curved trim uses mbu_edge_white2 so the blocks are too small (if you're making it twice as smooth as my method, use mbu_edge_white); and the grid is twice too large or the trim is half too small.

Could you perhaps post stuff like that in a requests thread next time? This thread is for .maps that will help builders by providing tough-to-make shapes (like tubes and scenery arches), etc. (I don't really see the point in Mkbul's last .map – anyone could make it – but whatever. )

Would anybody like some nice, smooth, flowing slopes with the texture wrapped nicely to the faces? I could make different lengths, different steepnesses etc... I could post the MAP and/or the DIF if you guys wanted.

(It's hollow inside. A 360 degree tube twist) Thanks to Cyberfox for help with figuring out the radial clone part of it.

Kostas: Yes, you can use these community maps for anything.

PF: That looks great! I've created something like it in QuArK, a hollow torus, but it never could convert... does yours?

Unfortunately not. Since it doesn't, I'll just post a very brief text tutorial in case you are curious.

- Use pie slices to make a small pipe
- If you want 32 pieces outcome, you would need a slice angle of 5.625 on each side (formula -> 360 / pieces # / 2 = slice angle) so use the slice tool to slice the sides at that angle
- Make a radial clone of it, only adjust one of the center values and the rotation amount (double the slice angle). Adjust the center value until it fits almost precisely. No need for more than 3 or 4 decimal values.
