Alright, the games played today may very well be the best games of Marble Blast ever played.

RC vs. Frostfire
Map: Triumvirate (Home)
Score: 88 (RC) - 65 (Frostfire)
Overall: 1-0 RC
I chose Triumvirate not because it's a map I like, but because it defies everything about Frostfire's much more aggresive playing style. Here, Frosty couldn't take advantage of his latency and MMing the same way that he could on (for example) Architecture. Here, my decisions payed off. Throughout the course of the game, I maintained a 10-20 point lead, taking most of the blues and reds, though Frosty did hang on a lot more than I thought he would. Though I did win this game, I did sense that future matches would be a struggle.

Map: Architecture (Away)
Score: 128 (RC) - 144 (Frostfire)
Overall: 1-1
Ah, I can still remember the times that I could beat Frosty on Architecture. Sadly, those days are no more, as he has easily become the best player in the community at this map. Booping and MMing me every chance he got, while also stealing most of the blues, there was really no chance from the start for me to beat him. I tried to make up for my lack of blue-stealing aptitude (did I really just say that?) and tried to pick up all of the reds, but it proved to be completely counter-productive, as in the end, Frosty beat me by 16 solid points. Ouch.

Map: Sprawl (Home)
Score: 173 (RC) - 144 (Frostfire)
Overall: 2-1 RC
To make up for the points I lost on Architecture, I chose my flagship map. Though I got off to a good start, Frosty quickly came back and slowly started to reel me in; around the one minute mark, Frosty was within 10 points from me, and I realized I was in dangerous territory. Luckily, I was able to grow my lead up again, and I beat Frosty by 29 points. Genuinely shaken and honestly scared, I knew I had to really hope for a good map in the randomizer.

Map: Ziggurat (Frostfire)
Score: 81 (RC) - 84 - (Frostfire)
Overall: 2-2
After Frosty saw my sad performance vs. MBK, he knew that I really sucked at this map. He stole every single blue, and I had to make up for that by picking up reds and yellows like crazy. We were tied going into the last few seconds, until I made a huge mistake against the clock and missed my opportunity to beat Frosty after hitting one of Zigg's infamous ramps, though Frosty really did deserve this win and honestly should've won by more (I did get lucky with several spawns). I knew that I needed a really good map from the Randomizer.

Map: Epicenter (Randomizer)
Score: 124 (RC) - 124 (Frostfire)
Overall: 2-2
Welcome to the first tie of the tournament, people. I do have a bit of a reputation of being trolled by the randomizer, and today was no exception; It chose my worst and second least favorite map. Hanging on (and camping) for dear life, Frosty had a a good lead until the last minute or so, when I started to slowly come back. I was a few points behind Frosty in the last 10 seconds when I chose a very quick gem route hoping the frosty wouldn't pick anything else up, and sure enough, he didn't. Easily the most intense match I've ever played and one of the most intense matches that has probably ever been played.

Map: Eye of the Storm (Randomizer)
Score: 95 (RC)- 86 (Frostfire)
Overall: 3-2 (RC) [GAME]
GAHHHHHHHH WHYYYYYYY UAGGHGHGHHGH
The randomizer, after choosing my worst map, chose my most hated map. I honestly thought this was the end for me, as I lag like crazy here and and rarely ever win. I certainly seemed that way after Frosty stole most of the blues, though I did manage to iron out a 9 point win, helped by a blue I nicked. Wow.

The games played today were really just extraordinary, and I highly suggest that you watch them; I hope they're as entertaining for you as they were for me and Frost. Though the maps were not at all in my favor today, the matches were still just about as good as Marble Blast gets, and Frosty played insanely well. I look forward to playing more games in the future!
